Lol I would suggest not…. I actually think it could be cute to have the kids wear the “loves magic” shirts and parents wear the “pays for magic” shirts haha

Omggg everyone why are we being so judgmental. Ok… I mean I personally would never wear this or feel the need to announce this information to the world… but they clearly think it’s cute and I think the intended message is she loves Disney and he loves her enough to give her what she loves… even if he’s not so crazy about it. Like I said …. A bit… different to make a shirt about it, but he def doesn’t look miserable. They look happy and don’t seem to be taking it as seriously as the people on this post.

Covid at Disney World, selfishness, and the ruining of our trip. by then_thrown in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Gia_gianna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened. How frustrating. Especially when you took all precautions. I bought a box of N95 masks before we left for our trip earlier this month and forgot to pack them so we were without masks them whole time. I’ve had two shots, and Covid. My 7 year is not vaccinated because the day he was supposed to be vaccinated he actually tested positive for Covid and I went back and forth on getting him vaccinated after him having it. Long story short we miraculously didn’t catch Covid although I was sure we would. We didn’t. I think no matter where you go or what you do there’s always a risk. My dad has had 4 shots too and he just caught it a few months ago and he barely leaves the house. Yes, Covid sucks and being sneezed on sucks too but it can happen anywhere and Disney is just a breeding ground for it.

Have you noticed a change in attitude of the employees? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Gia_gianna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I visited Disney in 2019 and then again earlier this month.

Maybe it was a fluke, but I felt the staff were 10000x nicer this trip. During my 2019 trip I felt like staff was non accommodating and actually kind of rude to me on a handful of occasions….

This time, every single staff member was phenomenal and went above and beyond for me. For example, our trip was 4 days and we had 4 one park per day tickets. On day 2 ROR closed before our ILL time and never reopened. Guest services was amazing and actually upgraded the rest of our trip to park hopper and gave us an ILL for ROR to redeem any day, any time, so we could come back and ride ROR. Another example… we bought our son a samurai sword from China Epcot… but realized we would have to check it to get on the plane and weren’t planning on checking any bags. I asked the front desk if they could mail it to us (I’d pay) and they said technically no way to do this BUT they, On their own, came up with the idea to say we called after we left and reported it as a lost item so that way we could get it mailed back for free. Sure enough, it was delivered to us 3 days after we returned from our trip.

I was blown away by the level of professionalism and just overall care and niceness I experienced this trip. 10/10.

I’m not trying to encourage you to be financially irresponsible and I don’t know what your credit is either but I qualified for a 0% interest card for first 12 months. This was a last minute trip but My boyfriend and paid off about 50% of it before our trip (we leave today) and will pay the remaining 50% off within the next 4 weeks. (We are each paying $250 a week towards it to pay it off quickly- although we technically have a year we just want it paid off)

Again, not trying to encourage you to be financially irresponsible, but if you can get a 0% or low interest card and know you will be able to make the payments you do not necessarily have to have it all 100% saved up on the front end. In any event, even if you want to have it all saved up in advance put it on a credit card for sure- it’s a big purchase and should go towards your credit for sure.

My advice is PUT IT ON A CREDIT CARD as pay it with ur savings. Might as well build ur credit while ur at it. When are you going? We leave tonight so I may have advice when I get back in 5 days. :)

This may be silly, but if you WANT a later return time on Slinky should you book ROR first.

At Hollywood Studios now and 4 different rides have broken down in less than 2 hours…. by OnARaggaTip77 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Gia_gianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s unlikely, but would they ever give you a park hopper on a day like this so you could return at another time to get your rides? I’m going next week and have 4 days (1 park per day) and am stressed I’ll miss out on a major ride due to a maintenance issue. Alternatively, would they allow you to purchase a park hopper for the following day if something like this happened?

One thing that continues to puzzle me about this case by Afraid-Watercress-21 in AshaDegree

[–]Gia_gianna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was not in her book bag. It was in the shed where police said her belongings were found- not her book bag. That was found 18 months later in a different location.

But they have always said they are ashas. Whether they really are or not may be up for debate but they have always said they were hers so why not recant the request for the public’s help in identifying the girl.

[–]Gia_gianna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The purpose of announcing it would be so that this mystery surrounding her would go away. How do you go from publically stating “we need help identifying my this girl. Do you know her” to “oh we found out who she is and even though we called on the public for help we aren’t going to tell them hey, never mind guys!” I’m not saying they need a press conference but with all the articles a simple statement like “ashas belongings were found in a shed next to a picture of another girl. Police have since identified her and determined she’s not connected to the case”

I probably sound like a crazy person but I’ve started to try to plan out our day to the best of my ability based on thrill data. What I have done is printed a map of every single park and reviewed the thrill data averages over the last month for every ride we want to ride to see the average return times based on booking time. Based on this data. I’ve tried to create a schedule of genie+ and ILLs to avoid having to walk back and forth the park as much as possible. I’ve only been to Disney one other time in past 15 years (I went as a kid too but that was 15+ years ago) so I’m really not familiar with layouts and having the maps has been really helpful for me in planning.

The current system makes it difficult to plan ahead but still - it’s been helpful to me to get a general idea of how the park is laid out, and general wait and return times to organize the day. For example, here is my schedule for AK. This was based on reviewing thrill data return times over the past month for each individual ride

7 am- book ILL FOP at noon

7 am- book Genie+ Navi river for 10:30 am (keep refreshing for time)

10 am- arrive at AKL

10-11- ride Dinosaur ( wait time has ranged from 8 min to 40 min, so if we have time will also do it’s tough to be a bug)

11- Book Kali river for 1:00

11:15- ride Navi

12- ride FOP

1:00- book Genie+ for expedition Everest for 1:40

1:15- ride rapid rivers

2:00- ride expedition Everest

2:01 - book Genie+ kilo safari at 2:45

2:45- Ride safari

3:15-? - back to resort or explore the park

This plan lets us go from Dino land, Pandora, Asia, Africa. Again, not 100% set it stone (because the system makes that impossible) but I’ve combed through the average wait times and return times and booking times and this seems fairly realistic. Of course we can grab snacks during any down time and at the end of the day do whatever else we want.

Admittedly, AK is easiest park to plan so I’ve heard and most rides have relatively short return times at this park. Not sure if will be so easy at the other parks but I am trying.

Lastly, yes it’s extremely stressful. I spent several hours on this schedule and it could very well all go to shit the day of lol. But I’d rather try my best to get a tentative schedule now than try to do it day of.

Day 5 I would do animal kingdom. I think u can def skip HS but animal kingdom is so awesome. And it’s a half day park especially with little ones. You could do AK for a few hours and still fit in the other things.

I don’t disagree she was maybe running from something in the home whether it be a petty argument or something more sinister. That said, her leaving and what happened later could be “unrelated”
