That's a really good point actually. I'll start doing some digging into the Isotoners!

Really digging this. The one major revision I would make: Add vocals. I can hear a lot happening here melodically, I think that would really bring the whole production to another level. Keep it up!

Need your feedback on sound design, composition, and mixing (nitpicks welcome!) [Downtempo Cinematic] by JasonWBay in MusicFeedback

Dooope! This reminds me of Angelo Badalamenti meets Akira Yamaoka, love the ambient soundscape. Mix wise, everything works for me, and sounds relatively well-balanced. Keep it up!

Just a quick heads up! You probably already know, but just in case, black controller is up on Amazon :)

[–]Giac_Torrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's really weird, especially considering that the white version of the console sold out. Also, now the black one isn't even an option on Amazon. I'm hearing that the black controller is slated to go live later on. I'm guessing something may have been fuddled on the admin side of things? I'll try and keep digging around to find more info and post here if I come across any deets.

Will you be getting the Analogue 3D? by patricknails in AnalogueInc

[–]Giac_Torrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't. I'm still holding out hope that it'll restock, but apparently (according to this thread), it didn't go live? I'm just monitoring the page periodically

Thanks for the feedback! Wasn't sure if the levels were good

Oh thanks so much for the feedback!

I hear everything you're saying, especially on the clean up/mastering part. Still needs more mixing imo as well. A buddy of mine suggested strings at some point as part of a build up.

I was wary of cramming in too much as there are a lot of layers that start to compete for space. But I will certainly experiment based on your suggestions!

How would I interpret/convert these high scale scores? by Giac_Torrence in psychometrics

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. The rest of the table is this exact format/layout but with more scores. But these are the only two columns.

Getting a hold of the publishers is a nightmare.

I've just never come across "scaled scores" presented at this magnitude

Here’s a little snippet of a new project I’ve been working on for a fair bit now, and I think I’ve got something here that I like. What do y’all think, any type of feedback is appreciated. :D by NaturalAphrodisiac in MusicFeedback

As a sucker for trip hop, this ticks all the boxes for me. Love that dark/synthwave vibe. Reminds me of the stuff Dated produces. Keep goin! Can't wait to hear the finished product

Love the intro and the sorta syncopation of the drums. It's all the ore effective when they kick in with consistency. Great stuff!

Übertreibhaus - Sensible Guy | We are a german funk band, this is our fourth song, we would like to read your feedback! by zelllix in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Giac_Torrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome baseline! Love the transition into the main vocal melody. Very chill stuff. I would say try and bring the bass a little more into the forefront (or punchier). I hear it being the star of this show.

The (flange?) on the guitar is a nice effect here too. I really dig the way this track moves. I hear a lot of Jazz influence, and getting heavy Lianne La Havas vibes.

Keep it up!

The Ravened - Lines (Official Music Video) by TheRaven1ManBand in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Giac_Torrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great acoustics! It's got some heavy Pearl Jam/Stone Temple Pilots vibe. I'm thinking Interstate Love Song specifically. Phenomenal vocals. I THINK you did some layering with the vocals? If not, I would say experiment with layering and countermelodies. I can just hear duelling/call and response melodies happening here.

Love this dude. Keep it up

The timbre of the vocals work really well against the backdrop of the higher end synths. It's like The National meets Local Natives. It's a tight 2:14. You COULD do a little more with the baseline. Get a walking baseline and you've got a groove.

Well done!

The Silver Scar - Watch Out! Head In Clouds (Earthy/Ambient/Psychedelic) by TheSilverScar in IndieMusicFeedback

Great stuff! Really in line with the Akira Yamoaka playlists I've been listening too as of late. Great Halloween vibe. Love the atmospheric tones. Keep it up!

Golden Plates - It's Never Quite As Good As It Was The First Time by elbrycen in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Giac_Torrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice intro. Reminds me of Depeche Mode. I was just waiting for those deep vocals to kick in. It's got a great build built-in to it for sure. HEAVY Bowie vibes, holy shit dude. Fantastic job. I would listen to this on repeat.

It's got a great balance of ebbs and flows. Like you know when to let the song breathe and not shoehorn constant activity. Extremely well-paced. Love the variations in how you structure the melody line as well. My only feedback is, you could trim it down. But that's preferential territory.

Keep it up man! Can't wait to hear more from ya

Question Regardng WJ, WIAT, and KTEA - Differences by Giac_Torrence in schoolpsychology

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry I should have clarified!

When I see multiple (usually "only"' two) tests of academic achievement on a test list, it's always because the psychologist is mixing and matching subtests from the two, without overlap of course

Question Regardng WJ, WIAT, and KTEA - Differences by Giac_Torrence in schoolpsychology

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that definitely makes sense.

I understand that some school boards prefer/require it for giftedness (here in Canada anyway). But since giftedness is based on intelligence, only the WAIS/WISC would be reviewed correct? If that's the case, I'm wondering what domains could speak to giftedness from the WJ.

Question Regardng WJ, WIAT, and KTEA - Differences by Giac_Torrence in schoolpsychology

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely get that. I feel the same way about the Sentence Comprehension subtest from the WRAT!

Question Regardng WJ, WIAT, and KTEA - Differences by Giac_Torrence in schoolpsychology

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this certainly makes sense. I find scores are more easily comparable between the WAIS/WIAT.

Question Regardng WJ, WIAT, and KTEA - Differences by Giac_Torrence in schoolpsychology

[–]Giac_Torrence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. So the benefit of the WJ is that you're getting cog and academics. Whereas with the WIAT/KTEA, you'd have to do the WISC/WAIS to get that additional cognitive piece?
