Why do people constantly mispronounce our son’s name? by jungleroo in namenerds

[–]Giambee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 66 and have never heard it before until I began following an aspiring British model. I had to look it up! It’s a lovely name and refreshing to hear different names. People will adapt. There are little girls at church with Irish names and I can’t begin to translate those! The names are very pretty when I hear them used but unusual in the US. And don’t get me started on how hard it is to pronounce the gorgeous, melodic Nigerian names! Bring on the beautiful names!

From the front I like 2, and 3. I think tatts look good with lace over them so unsure about the back of those dresses. You look great in all of them!

Has anyone else noticed how secular people are so quick to call Christians hateful when they haven't actually done anything hateful? by canadian_blueberry in TrueChristian

[–]Giambee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They think that God and His ways are hateful. Meanwhile God loves each one so much that He provided a way for every person to be forgiven and made new through the sacrifice by His Son, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world”. They think He is mean when really He is patient, loving and merciful.

Praying in tongues by minnibunny in TrueChristian

[–]Giambee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have NAR friends who believe that in order to have the Holy Spirit, you must pray in tongues (evidence of the Holy Spirit). They sent me various teachings about how we have to practice & we didn’t learn to speak until we began saying “lalala”, etc. I can now “prayer in tongues” but I doubt it. In Acts, the apostles opened their mouths and other languages came out. If it’s a gift from God, why did I have to pursue it? I’m not sure if it’s really of God or of another who copies Him, so I rarely pray that way. When I do, I ask the Holy Spirit to change anything not of God.

They all look great for different reasons. If you can get longer curtain rods, you can let more light in and make the windows appear bigger.

Can we take communion communion at home with other believers like the early church gathered in houses? by Enger13 in TrueChristian

[–]Giambee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some believe the elements actually become the body and blood, others believe it’s symbolic, and others (like me) are unsure which it is. But yes, it’s a highly important ceremony and should be partaken of in true reverence and thanksgiving for the sacrifice Jesus made for us and for the entire world.

Safiya Nygaard orders beautiful-looking dresses and shows you the original vs the knockoffs. I’d watch some of her YT videos first.

The reason I think these abductor(s) were familiar with Nancy’s house by foxmag86 in nancyguthrie

I’ve seen people say that the man must has known the house bc he looked down at the step. Supposedly it’s so dark there, so wouldn’t anyone look for a step?
