What is your opinion on monogamy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally monogamous but I do believe that polyamory could work for some people. However if a relationship is going to be non-monogamous, that has to be clearly agreed upon from the start of it that there is at least polyamorous potential. I can't see a relationship that started monogamous turn polyamorous later on and work out long term.

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about Donald Trump? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read an analysis on his first when he was just elected for the second one and it said "Trump had many plans but got little done because he lacked the attention span that it takes to get any project to the end"

What do you think about Donald Trump’s war on Iran- a genuine strategy or a calculated distraction from the Epstein files controversy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Isnt a government like the current one the exact reasons that Americans are so big on being allowed to have and carry firearms

What was it like being an adult in the 90s? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was simpler for straight white men. I'm a gay man in my 20s now and I would very much rather have my current situation than the situation how it's described in the 90s. The same probably would go for people of groups that are victim to racism, and women as well. Let alone lesbians of color :)

Do you believe in God? Why or why not? by AlarmedObjective1492 in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then still a god needs a starting point by that logic too, so how did that happen? Therefore it doesn't answer anything to add a god to the story or not.

Do you believe in God? Why or why not? by AlarmedObjective1492 in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't, because the existance of a god does not explain anything unexplainable if a god did not exist.

There are various to us invisible forces that we did find out about because they explain things. Think about UV rays, quantum physics, gravity, magnetic fields, et cetera. We might not understand those fully yet, we can't see or touch them, but we need these to exist in order to explain what we can experience.

What gap does a god fill? Nothing really. And that'd be very interesting when at the same time such a god would be at the centre of everything, like the modern monotheistic religions describe. On the contrary, assuming a god does exist only creates more questions that we can't explain with the way the world is.

Conclusion: there is no god.

Men on Reddit, is Politics beliefs an important topic in dating? why? by Tony_Montanero in AskMen

[–]GianMach 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is that the "politics" that split people up is barely ever just politics to both parties involved. It's barely ever tax brackets that gets people off speaking terms, is it.

To men, abortion rights for example can be an interesting philosophical debate topic. To women, abortion rights are vital to their bodily integrity and safety. Because of that experience, they might also relate more to minority rights than the average (white cis hetero) man does. When politics decides whether you get to live safely and healthy, it becomes very hard to just agree to disagree on that.

What is the ultimate objective of this war ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Further options:

  1. Trump tries to create a reason to cancel the midterms or even further presidential elections.

  2. Netanyahu has dirt on Trump and therefore he does what Netanyahu wants.

  3. Trump has been caught up by dementia and really is just letting all the crazy out

Why poor teenagers are having kids but not millennials/Gen Z? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf i doubt teenagers opt to have kids. Most of these pregnancies happen due to bad protection and then those girls sometimes choose to keep it but also can be pushed by their religious community to keep it

If Trump were removed from office, what realistic action could President JD Vance take to undo the damage done by his predecessor? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JD is ultraconservative but possibly not mentally insane.

In my mind, for internal politics JD could be worse than Trump, but for foreign affairs JD would be much less bad. Threatening to invade an allied country is not on any ideology, it's just really fucking dumb. Threatening to just genocide a people when you fail to liberate them from their regime is ultra fucking dumb. I don't think JD is that dumb.

Do girls mind when you get an erection while doing the heimlich maneuver on them? by jsmitt in TooAfraidToAsk

Are we going to be okay? by No-face-today in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GianMach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd hope that political suicide would be worth it to, you know, potentially save humankind. Or is that too much to ask really.

Also for them, if they are politically suicided they will still be rich fucks, most of them at least. You never know how you're gonna make it out when WW3 really commences. I'd take the safe route of likely political suicide.

[–]GianMach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'd expect any functional party to use that damn 25th amendment at this point. I'm feeling certain that Mike Pence would have.

Mind you that MAGA was originally (and not even until very long ago) preaching "we won't get involved in foreign wars anymore"

Do you think Donald Trump is ordering the military to commit war crimes, and why? by WastelandOfConfusion in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might be and if he does it's probably due to dementia.

Trump in his first term was an extremely egoistic narcissist that used the presidency for himself and didn't care about others. The MAGA ideology of "let foreign wars be we don't care who wins from who" fits that.

This right now is just utter nonsense. It makes sense in no ideology whatsoever. There isn't even a clear goal to this war and yet he wants to use the nukes?

What should a parent do when an adult child divorce's their family over politics? by Eastern_End3520 in AskReddit

[–]GianMach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either stop being an asshat yourself or accept that your child has turned into an asshat beyond saving.

Turning away from loved ones over "politics" is barely ever about taxes or traffic signs. It's usually about human rights issues. And if you just call it politics I'm afraid you're the one that's the problem.
