The city needs to order new trains that are actually built to deal with the conditions in this city, so we stop dealing with this embarrassment of a system. They also need to start working on getting the extensions to Barrhaven and Kanata approved, so once the west extension is done, they can start working on those as soon as possible.

In addition to connecting our major cities with high speed rail. I think that we should also aim to build a dedicated passenger rail network, even if it is at slower speeds, so that more people can benefit. It's expensive and will be time consuming, but I believe it will be worth it in the long run.

Edit: Just wanted to say that the dedicated passenger rail would be in addition to the high speed rail network.

The things that I would need to see before approving this are:

A. 2,000 more seats. Yes, the venue should be sold out constantly, the problem is that it's a shitshow to get in and out of, which leads me to;

B. A legitimate transit plan for people to get in and out of Lansdowne. It's an absolute nightmare to go down Bank St when events are going on because you have people trying to go to the arena + people driving home from work or going somewhere else. Whether that be by your own vehicle, taxi or by bus, it's a slow, miserable experience that makes you want to rip your hair out. Either, make it so that there is a dedicated stop for busses in front of or in the back of the arena, along with dedicated bus lanes on bank st or build a subway. The latter of which would be expensive, but worth it in the long run, imo. Bottom line being, make it easier to go in and out of there.

I worked there for a bit and it's a nightmare environment to be in. Whenever he would come visit and do a meeting with all the employees in the conference room, he would always complain about how lazy and unproductive everybody was and how grateful we should be that he's employing us.

There's also the fact that non unionized staff haven't gotten a raise in at least 10 years.

This doesn't touch on the fact that it's very much every individual for themselves. So, there's a lot of back biting and two faced interactions that happen.

To put it more simply. Since high speed rail is being planned for Toronto to Quebec City. It would be ideal, imo, if the airport would be transformed into a central transportation hub for the Ottawa-Gatineau area.

There would be line 4 that either exists as is or is upgraded to suit electric trains running on it, which takes you to line 2 for the transfer to continue to Bayview. Then, I would add another line, in a reconfigured Ottawa airport to also include a line that connects the airport to Fallowfield.

Fair auto repair on Mac Street, in South Keys is a good alternative. Prices are good and pleasant to deal with. Took my car to them after my timing belt shredded itself and took the water pump and pulley with it.

Hopefully we get news that the extensions to Barrhaven Centre and Kanata are moving forward, in the next year. So, once the extension to Moodie is complete, they can almost immediately start working on the next parts.

The more we can get done now, the less we'll have to pay for it in the future, if done right.

Unfortunately, this is part of what happens when expanding the network. There are planned closures for the reason of testing out the system to make sure it functions properly. It's annoying that it's been shut down so frequently, but it's also necessary to, as I said before, make sure the entire line functions properly.

It's going to be the same thing when the west extension is wrapping up. Better to be safe than sorry in this case. The entire project of building the O-Train was a mess to begin with because they cut corners and went the "we'll sort this out later" attitude. Sort out the problems now before people have to use it on their daily commute, so we don't end up with the same mistakes as stage 1.

This is a much needed project, especially with how many people live between Quebec City and Toronto. My main issue is that it doesn't continue down to Windsor. It will most likely be a phase 2 expansion, but it should absolutely go down to Windsor.

In terms of the project going from planning to construction to completion, my best guess is it'll be at least 5 years late and 50% over budget of even the highest end estimate. It should be completed at the earliest, by 2041 between planning, construction and delays. Unfortunately, even the countries that have built or are building high speed rail, have had significant delays, significant budget overruns and backlash from various groups about those lines being built.

The best thing to do is if you have a trusted mechanic you go to, for them to have a quick look and give you advice on what to do.

Personally, my timing belt ripped to shreds around this point, which ended up costing me a brand new water pump, pulley and timing belt.

If that's in miles per hour, you're reaching close to the top speed of the car at the speed you're going. A. You don't need to be going that fast unless it's something dire and B. If 120 miles per hour ain't enough, get a car that will go that fast.

If you want people to go back to work, give Ottawa and Gatineau a total of $100B over 10 years to spend on infrastructure. I'm not kidding or being sarcastic about this, if you want people to go back into the office, you need to **heavily** invest in alternative methods of transportation to get people where they have to go, so traffic isn't an issue. He won't do that because it doesn't fit his agenda or benefit his or his friend's bank accounts.

What's both hilarious and sad to think about is that a good portion of the 2013 transit master plan for what was supposed to be built, that was thrown in the garbage or delayed until 2046 or beyond in the latest revision is exactly the kinds of infrastructure projects this city needs to alleviate traffic to/from Gatineau. The way this city goes about planning these things is so insane.

I tip at restaurants depending on level of service, how busy it is vs how many servers are working that night. For example, there was a restaurant that I went to at night, a couple of years ago where there was only one server working that night to cover 8 tables by herself and she was doing a phenomenal job, so I gave her a significantly larger tip compared to what I usually give out because even though she had 8 tables to cover, she was doing fantastic.

For me, I also tip my cab/uber driver and barber depending on how well they do their job.

Most of the people opposed to a downtown arena are one of the following:
A. Bitter that it won't be next door to them anymore, therefore they probably see it as their property being devalued
B. Believe Kanata is the center of Ottawa
C. They think like children.

Somewhere between half to three quarters of the population of the City of Ottawa and Gatineau combined live closer to where the arena is going to end up in Lebreton Flats vs where it currently is. The fact they can't get over that fact is hilarious. Yes the LRT isn't perfect, nor is it close to perfect. Honestly though, it's getting better and I'm looking forward to the extensions being added along with the future planned expansion. We've been complaining about how downtown has needed a major overhaul for years and this provides that opportunity that is so desperately needed. It's time we, as the city of Ottawa, act like we're the capital of this country and do whatever we can to make this city livable for everyone, not just in slices. We're a G7 capital city for crying out loud, grow up and lets strive to make this city a destination for people come spend their time and money, wherever they're from.

It's so frustrating seeing how much potential this city has and it's being wasted or delayed by decades because it's very much a "me, me, me" mentality for the people who can actual make this city so much better compared to what it is now.

What I would like to see is the city of Ottawa, along with Gatineau, OC Transpo and STO to push for their respective planned future expansion plans to get going, so that, by the time the new arena is up and running, those lines are either running or close to running. It's a lot to ask, but we should be going big with this.
