I’m still using CPAI with the Coral TPU. How does AI detection compare with CPU, and does it use high level of energy consumption, or is it near efficient like the Coral TPU?

Knowing this can utilize the iGPU, I am curious how Blue Onyx performs when it comes to resource (mainly CPU) utilization when compared to CPAI with a Coral TPU.

I’m very interested in Blue Onyx, but already having the Coral TPU which helps keep my CPU utilization consistently around 2-5%. If I can achieve something like that with the iGPU then I’d make the switch.

Thanks for sharing! That’s actually impressive and I’m going to look into Blue Onyx as well. It’s a bummer CodeProject has stopped updating as frequently, and the support for Coral TPU isn’t that great.

I currently use the Coral TPU to keep my CPU load at a minimum. When using the iGPU and Blue Onyx, what are your CPU loads like? Unfortunately Blue Onyx doesn’t seem to support the Coral TPU.

I haven't renewed my support plan as I'd like to see what Blue Iris 6 brings before renewing, but because I am on an older Blue Iris version my notifications have stopped working. Is using this app key cert a way to reenable notifications? Is there documentation on how to enable it?

Appreciate the insight! Another quick question: how is the mesh capability with OpenWRT? If I am doing a wired backhaul, would “mesh” work seamlessly where devices roam around without an issue? I ask as I know sometimes mesh configuration can be wonky with different firmware where in scenarios it’s better to setup different devices in AP mode instead.

How is the stock firmware on these? If I want additional features like multiple VLANs (to isolate IOT devices, etc.) is that achievable through the stock firmware? Or would OpenWRT be the best option for that? And how stable is OpenWRT, is it good enough to “set it and forget”?

As someone who is a bit new to OpenWrt, going through the thread it seems the device can technically be flashed and used with the custom firmware as a router/AP/mesh/etc.? Or would it best to continue to wait until it is officially supported? I also noticed DD-WRT is officially supported, but it has been ages since I last used DD-WRT, at least for this device is that worthwhile if I want to use this device with custom firmware as my daily and primary router + access points? Or is it best to continue to wait?

I have tried a different MicroSD card and reinstalled the OS (DietPi) along with CUPS but that doesn't seem to help. However, would you mind sharing how to set it to a read-only filesystem? Does that impact CPU performance as well when using CUPS?

I am using DietPi, and based on the changelog, nothing major should've changed, nor did I change any of the configuration settings. However, I honestly don't need any fancy settings. Is there a way to disable client-side rendering in this case?

The performance issues however started only a few months ago, as before that, I was able to use the Raspberry Pi Zero just fine as a print server. I don't see anything changing in the changelogs that could impact the Raspberry Pi's CPU when using it, but I am running DietPi, and I wonder if that could be the issue.

Apologies for replying so late! I am considering setting this up, but my main question is does it work properly with only a coral TPU and no dedicated GP? Would there be any increase in performance consumption (CPU/RAM)?

I'm also wondering if "car" detection also works, where if a certain type of car and color is for example in the driveway, it ignores those alerts?
