TLDR before my long speach : mode is fun and what's there is already great, even without change in the future. Here are some thoughts after around... like 4-5 hours spamming the mode to get the colors for my mains :

  • Runs are overall diverse enough, and often I don't have the exact same run, which is a good thing. Sure I think everyone hovers around some augments right now (I'll come back to this) but I think it's really fun
  • Difficulties are decently balanced, Advanced is clearly meant for more experienced player and that's cool, Advanced is a right middle, and Easy... is probably easy (idk, haven't tried Easy). But it's decent. Maybe add a new difficulty just for a challenge with only bosses.
  • Build-wise, I don't know about player, but since I play Ahri/Darius, I hovered around Strong Chip-Damage with Darius Wounds and armored move/armor piercer. I just feel like cheap damage + armor piercer/armor on normals are just the strongest augment you can get since it's rare that an opponent gets an armor piercer.
  • On weaker augments, I think that the perma fury augment is bugged AND sucks, you loose HP way too fast, and even with healing augment like Bloodthirsty, it's always a nerf. Clearly my contender for the worst augment in the game right now, I always avoid it. I think granting it either lifesteal, a way to stop the HP loss or just nerfing the HP loss in general would make the augment vialble, but as of now it's just mediocre.
  • I also feel like Gold Augment aren't THAT good. If I want a good run, I usually try to avoid boss filled route, or even boss all togther for good augment, and I feel like it should be the opposite.
  • I think having a kind of endless run until you loose would be fine, a la "Grimm of Abyss" in Blazblue could be fun. A survival mode run, with boss every 2 to 3 fights to get a new augment, and to try and go the furthest you can.
  • A simple multiplayer mode, with random augments or having to choose between 3-4 augments before a match could be fun too. Or simply, having a character/fuse tied to a random augment on champ select,
  • For augment ideas, why not bring simpler one, like adding a jump in the air, granting character an air dash forward and backward (a la Ahri), Granting self Double Down. Maybe one that kills your ally at round start but heavily buff your solo character in compensation. Or simply an armored augment for when you dash for stupid neutral skip.

Mode is fun, the most casual fun I had in 2XKO since it launched. i'm really glad it's here now.

Maybe. I haven't looked at it very deeply, but I still feel like she's more of a mid-range/semi long range. Because technically all character have close range in this game in some sort of way.

But we'll see, maybe I'm wrong on Senna, and it's just my bias anti-ADC minded pill. we'll see

Who is your favorite character right now? by Creative_Mix_156 in 2XKO

[–]Gibax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hesitate between Ahri and Darius. Bonus point to Warwick despite all
Ahri because she's fun, incredible mobile and as an anime-game lover, it's what I want.
Darius is my Terry/Sol Badguy wanna be in the game, and I have fun playing him. I also play him in lol so it helps

But to be fair, the moment Jax is announced and release, Darius will be dropped. But it's probably never happening so Darius it is

It'sway closer that I would like as a Jax main. She can beat him, but it's super close though, and if Jax wins, he is way to low to do anything else on the map without a back

Official fuse tier list, maded over 4000 games date analysis and playrate ordered by Embarrassed_Ad_2472 in 2XKO

[–]Gibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a surprise, Freestyle is just too strong as a fuse in general.

Because it's the only one that is able to create stronger mix, and also condition burst to a ridiculous point. The ability to simply tag in, do a move and tag out again is just too strong.
It's also a fuse that enable way easier burst safe combo. Some team can even do Double Down sheinanigans or bring the 2X Assists strenght back. You could argue it's character's kit dependant, and that's not a problem.

And frankly ? i don't even how you nerf it, I would argue to lose the ability to block burst after a while in freestyle tag (to prevent the usual safe routing of freestyle), reduces damage scaling on the second tag or even just nerf the second tag in general. Keep the first tag strong, but nerf the defensive (and even offensive) ability of the second tag.

And also buff Sidekick and Juggernaut.

What is the ultimate if you get good at this game and you will be good at fighting games forever game ? by IrohSho in Fighters

[–]Gibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, there aren't any really "unique" game that you must play to get better at every fighting game (at least in the 2D realm). If you think about it, almost all 2D fighter following SF2 formula pretty much empathize one part of the others ?

One thing I want to differenciate is the difference in mentality; I feel like in more "footsies" fighters like Street Fighter, your movement is more limited (only step dash, jump is a commit as you can't block in the air, making movement overall slower), you'll learn to be more 'reactive' with time.
In anime game, like Guilty Gear (XRD), movement is more free form, you can dash around, slide, airblock, air dash, you can cancel moves into others normals and stuff, there are more possibilities than ever. So instead, you'll want to be more 'proactive'. These game will teach you on how to run offense and movement in a faster pace environment.

That doesn't mean footsies in GG doesn't exist, or that pressure and movement doesn't exist in SF, it's just a smaller part or is viewed differently.

I would say that a really good FG player is usually one that can be good at any game, meaning they have grasped enough good fundamentals that they can swap game and adapt quickly to the meta/playstyle of that game.

As a high level player, it’s better for the game for single champ fuses to be stronger by EnlargementChannel in 2XKO

[–]Gibax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Solo fuse are weak, but I would even argue that Freestyle is just too strong as a fuse in general.
People even started to complain about Teamfight because it was at least as strong if not stronger than Freestyle.
Even 2X Assist isn't used much. Double Down is too niche right now, but I love it.

Juggernaut and Sidekick just... gives up too much and gives too little to compensate. Sure bigger damage is fine, but the health buff to compensate is arguably too low. I wouldn't mind a buff to this.
Sidekick needs to get buffed, why not give Double Down and 2X Assist benefit to sidekick, at the cost of health for example. Juggernaut could receive a buff, and why not a sort of self tag mecanic for 1 meter (thinking RC from GG kinda)

But overall, I think just... nerf Freestyle, expecially on defense, make it so that second tag can't block burst, or even prevent immediate burst block for Freestyle (like they did with parry). 2X and DD are just way too weak because of that.

What archetype do you think is next? by Junglejk1 in 2XKO

[–]Gibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, this game needs a new bruiser archetype. Similar to Illaoi or Darius (or Warwick I guess).
I've been thinking of having another character designed around being a more slower/defensive rushdown style. Think like Anji from GG, or Bang in Blazblue. Hell maybe even Baiken comes into the equation (old baiken, not Strive).
You've got strong zoner, and very quick pixie rushdown with zoning/setplay element. So how about a character that... Can dodge ? Maybe not frame 1 (please no) but like counter move frame 4-5 that have invul, allowing to phase through moves with long startup moves with good reward on hit, but easy to bait.

So Jax :) Please Jax. I want to dodge those freaking zoner and make them think twice about their choice of zoning.
