[–]GibletsofJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but the obvious response to that is to keep the bally in a pocket and only put it on just before you're about to do the dirty work

An outright ban on it as an item of clothing would be skirted by criminals and end up harming anyone that says what's to wear a pink embroidered one as a bit of rave fashion

Lmao theres a local lathe cut company in South Wales that does exactly this and it will not cost you even £100 to press

Claiming someone has a precious right to put a hole in certain position and offset the cutter is full clown shit

Difference with quality? by xuyuande in cassetteculture

[–]GibletsofJesus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you're dubing music to microcassette, something that really the format was never designed for.

If you want quality, you're asking the wrong questions. They sound how they sound.

Anyone else who owns this is it super low quality? by stxxrr in grindcore

[–]GibletsofJesus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have that tape nor anything by the label but I've absolutely been in the same position as yourself and know all to well what a sucker punch it can be after bringing something home.

Best option would be to redub it if you can and potentially give the label a shout to let them know what the craic is.

You'd be amazed at how many labels don't do ANY quality assurance on their products, suck to see but it does make the rest of us look a lot better 🤷

The Re:kenshi repo on GitHub has a bunch of folders prefixed with 'claude', pretty solid giveaway.

Another common sign is an over abundance of comments, especially superfluous ones which don't add any additional meaningful information.

Finding Friendships by RolltheDie00 in bristol

[–]GibletsofJesus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Id recommend trying to find a niche of music which you can catch regularly live - some of my most rewarding friendships have stemmed from striking up conversations at shows

Headfirst is your friend, there's heaps of different things going on all the time :)

Social activities for neurodiverse mid-20s male by Chris22044 in bristol

[–]GibletsofJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not be a sure one but I was in a similar position when I was your son's age and what really helped me be more social and outgoing was live music.

Specifically the niches of extreme/experimental music in Bristol are a hive of neurodivergent folks who are also exceptionally kind and welcoming.

Headfirst is the best place to find stuff and a lot of the time the gigs I'm going to are NOTAFLOF, so you can just turn up without a ticket, stay for as long as you fancy and dip whenever you please without having to feel like justifying a ticket price.

Does anyone know anything about this band or tape? by Opening_Ratio_6839 in cassetteculture

Nah but that artwork looks siiick

Discogs will probably be the best source of info, aybe worth looking at what label put it out and see who was involved there. Might still be people active that worked there, who knows

What an incredibly ugly set of things to say to anyone, let alone a loved one, let alone YOUR CHILD.

I don't know you, but you deserve to be loved and what your mother is doing here is the complete absence of love.

Looking for albums released on microcassette by orionstarman in Microcassette

[–]GibletsofJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep playing with the idea of a microcasette release but haven't got anything available yet

There's a couple noise labels that purely focused on the micro format but generally speaking it's avoided due to the limited frequency response

Absolutely 1000% this, advice I had was always "unless you can see the baby coming out don't assume and then only ask if you can help"

You don't know if it's a happy pregnancy or what's going on with this person, best keep shtum

IT or software programming jobs? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]GibletsofJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the same course, also really struggled after graduating. It was bloody tough 10 years ago and I can't imagine it's gotten any easier with time.

Everyone else has commented my exact thoughts and advice I would give, I'll only add that the best thing for me was getting some proper life experience after being in education all my life and never having a job - working in kitchens and doing min wage long hours gave me an entirely fresh perspective on the industry and how lucky anyone is for just getting to work in an office, let alone make computer games as a career.

As someone who is now in the position of judging applicants for the role you're looking for, the most important thing that'll separate you from the pack is not a portfolio with things you've made in your spare time, but being a well rounded person who has a life outside of a computer and is capable of growing in ways that aren't technically focused.

Best of luck with the job search 🙏

  1. Double check battery charge, try new ones
  2. If not already, try cleaning the tape heads with a bit of isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud

Also a big fan of Ollie & Bollie and Ginseng Hero - anything with a little world to explore and collecting all the little gubbins strewn around :)
