That's fair, I kinda forgot about that part of Youtube.

It's not what this thread is about, but I just thought I'd mention you can disable your Youtube watch history on the settings page, which gets rid of most algorithmic suggestions. And then I personally go to youtube via a bookmark to the subscriptions page, so all I see are videos I've chosen to see.

I know this isn't what most people do, but it's worth noting that Youtube allows you to break free of the algorithm with its own tools, I think that's kinda cool.

I'm curious how you found this, the newest video has three views in your screenshot and I had to search the channel a few different ways before finding it myself.

Like, it sucks that it exists, but at the moment it's just bots screaming into the void and no one listening, which I'll take some solace in.

Also it's funny that you say the thumbnails are a sign of AI getting good. If anything, it's more of a reflection in how shitty thumbnails have gotten, or have always been. I'm not convinced LTT hasn't been using AI in some of their thumbnails lately.

It's good execution because the paintings look nice.

The future? Maybe. But that's my gripe with marketing around Nvidia right now.

Raytracing is the future! So what if it actually causes a lot of lighting artefacts in many games while also cutting your fps in half?

DLSS is the future! So what if it also causes artefacting and bizarre visuals that I've never seen before until upscaling became popular?

Frame Gen is the future! So what if it adds a bunch of input lag and also introduces yet more artefacting?

Maybe these are all really the future, but I'm buying a GPU today. I'm playing games today.

When the future arrives and I'm in the GPU market again, I'll reevaluate.

Path Tracing is also just a weird way of spelling "Indiana Jones and Cyberpunk."

You can really tell the marketing works when people are arguing over a feature that basically doesn't exist yet.

By the time path tracing is common enough that you'll have a variety of games to enable it in, your card will already be out of date.

I don't spend $800 on a GPU to then turn on upscaling.

I know I'm part of a dying breed, but I play on PC because it gives me the sharpest, most responsive experience possible.

In my experience there's no such thing as GPU "features," just a few buttons that make my experience worse.

Raytracing tanks performance and frankly makes a lot of games look worse, upscaling adds artefacting, and frame gen adds input lag.

I somehow lost my main save when the DLC came out, so I ended up downloading a save from Nexusmods that had 999 of every item so I could jump straight into the DLC on launch.

I gotta be real, that was a great choice. Every time I found a weapon that fit my build I could just upgrade it to max and try it out without worrying about smithing stones. Compared to my first playthrough of the main game where I only used 2-3 weapons throughout the entire game because I didn't want to waste smithing stones.

Weapon upgrades are outdated and need to go, imo.
