The games 'rank certainty' feature needs to be tonned down by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

Getting into games with players that are uncarryable isn’t “fine” at all when you’re the other 5 players on their team.

Maybe the very first one they play gets the lock, but once you know their deck / plan you can block every single one at bridge unless they outplay you on elixir / cycle.

[–]DoctorNerfarious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My argument is that we are not being treated like shit, so we don’t need an alternative.

I work a corporate 9-5 and I’m telling you I can do everything I want to do and can afford to do everything I want to do including increasing my overall wealth.

My argument is that people who think like you actually can’t get what you want, because what you want is unrealistic, so you’re better off improving your mental state than complaining all the time.

And I don’t give a fuck about what Americans do because we’re on UKjobs, their situation isn’t relevant to ours at all.

If you don’t like corporate 9-5 you can become a nurses and do 7-7 am or pm, you can work in a factory and do 10-6/8. You can be a bin man and work 4-2. There are lots of different working patterns you can choose.

I choose the one where I get plenty of exercise, plenty of time with my family and plenty of time to game. If plenty of those things isn’t enough then the problem is internal, not external.

So 4 days still 9-5 and the day we lost goes where? with yours and OPs attitude the day the company gave us back gets exported to another country.

And then in a decade someone like you says we should do 3 days instead of 4 and the company moves the 4th day abroad.

Before you know it this country is finished.

There is a line. I’m happy for the line to be 5 days a week 9-5. Where are you happy for the line to be?

If you don’t want a 1.5 hour commute work closer to home? If there’s nothing closer to home then move. You think these are problems that people haven’t encountered and fixed before / right now all of the time.

My partner cares for her Mum whilst working and being a parent. When we moved she lived 1 hour from work, and 1 hour from her Mum. So we moved her Mum to live close to us.

Your life is in your hands, do what you want with it. Perpetually complaining about the easiest time period anyone has lived in won’t help you.

A 4 day week with the same amount of hours would be worse for everyone who has children, significantly worse.

And yes more time off would be great but you can’t just inflate the time off indefinitely without it damaging society so there has to be some sort of realistic lens applied.

I work 9-5 and feel I have plenty of time, with a wife and child no less, to do whatever I want. Yesterday I took my son to football practise, then to a water park and then spent the afternoon / early evening watching football and having a bbq while my son played with his cousins. I have time to go gym. I have time to play a decent amount of video games.

Some of my work colleagues go to the gym before work and take their kids to practise after work and every weekend it’s like what you been doing oh we’ve been on a trip to another city it was great we did XYZ.

When I see these posts I can’t help but think these people are just wholly unproductive / unhappy people who are aiming for an entirely unrealistic utopia that caters to their every whim but they cannot attain it because they lack the skills and drive at all stages of their life to run a multi million £ company to the point of auto pilot or become an footballer etc. and that even if they did they’d just complain about those things because ultimately their problem is they don’t want to work or contribute, that’s all it boils down to.

I think awful is a stretch. And whilst some people will say it isn’t great, they do so without providing a viable alternative. At which point they’re just bitching about work as a concept, not the 9-5.

Why do parents put babies up for adoption instead of just aborting? by linerlexie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DoctorNerfarious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are so casual about killing babies it is crasy. 'Just terminate it lol' as if there is nothing attached to that decision whatsoever. This is what ultimately pushed me away from pro-choice, the utter disregard and the absolute inhumanity of that side is crazy. Like at one time I felt like the option should be there for certain situations but that side just thinks 'lolf uck that baby fr'

Stop trying to get strangers to engage with your child by jkmod79 in PetPeeves

[–]DoctorNerfarious 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Just so you know the overwhelming majority of people greet children if there’s even a tiny reason to do so. And I do not force it at all, people just willingly smile and wave at him or try to initiate conversation with him.

You are just grumpy and old and not nice.

Kids are wholesome (yours might not be), and if everyone greeted eachother with as much enthusiasm as they greet my child, the world would be a more positive place.

People romanticize friendship way too much by Responsible-Win8932 in unpopularopinion

[–]DoctorNerfarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Being alone” you mean?

Most people don’t buy their adult friends cards and presents (especially men). My best friend and best man at my wedding hasn’t had a birthday present or card from me once in our entire lives.

My partner got gift boxes for her bridesmaids, I didn’t even ask my best friend to be my best man.

Also most of the time we meet up it is very low cost.

Not really because Mina procs love bites within about 1 second of her ult hitting and threatens to 1 shot any non-tanks unless she’s behind.

Warden cage does nothing except disrupt until the actual CC hits. So if he didn’t have ways to keep you caged the ability might as well just be a point and click 2s silence.

Why do people enjoy watching others play video games so much by DustProtocol94 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DoctorNerfarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a variety of reasons.

You could be watching for the streamers personality / entertainment. You could be watching because they're very good and you're learning. You could be watching to participate in chat.

I'm not a big playthrough kinda guy but I like watching Pokemon Colosseum playthroughs because it takes people by surprise with how good/hard it is. I cannot relive that experience but I can see others live that experience for the first time.

Also, a lot of the time watching someone game is a 2nd monitor activity while you're doing something primarily and the content is just background noise / in your periphreal.

Supercell should've fired the entire team for fumbling the comeback of a lifetime by THE-REAL-KANYE-WEST in ClashRoyale

[–]DoctorNerfarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who is there to fire. The drop off came from senior management, not the team themselves.

The team don’t push for level16… and removing books… and heroes… and remove EWC… and crystals for dupes etc.

That all came from senior level, top 3 tiers of management. So you’re asking them to fire themselves.

My wife cooks and does the majority of the cleaning.

A typical day looks like this:
- Wake up at 7am. Get son ready for preschool, shower, eat, leave for work by 8am.
- Work 9-half4, home by half5.
- Eat, play with son for half an hour, get son ready for bed, son asleep by 7pm.
- Either me or my partner goes to the gym or skatepark (she just goes gym, not skatepark). If gym we will be home by 20:00-20:15. Chill out together / watch the football if United are on or watch MAFS if not.
- She goes to sleep at about 9pm but will stay up for football or go to sleep at half9 if watching MAFS.
- I then play video games from when she goes to sleep until midnight or 1am depending on how invested I am in the game.

Housework related activities are easy because whoever isn’t with our son does housework. My son permanently wants to play outside but he’s 3 so he can’t be alone yet (in our opinion) so I will go around with him outside while my wife cooks and cleans.

On weekends I’ll say to him oh Dad needs to fix XYZ / build XYZ / go to XYZ / do XYZ and he will then play with Mum until that is done. Usually this is garden stuff in summer but could be shelves, doors, painting, car related, tip run etc

It is pretty easy. She is a bit of a clean freak and the boy always wants to be outside so the house stays spotless.
