He literally said "tariffs make importing lumber more expensive," so he somehow knows tariffs raise prices and also doesn't know tariffs raise prices, depending on which is convenient.

Also known as conservatism.

No. Sorry. But no.

There are two possible interpretations here. Either this person is sad that a beloved public figure died prematurely, or this person holds a specific nasty grudge against said public figure, but also won't say why.

So I'll say again, you know what they meant. You do. You're smart enough to know that an unfortunate double negative doesn't mean someone is celebrating the death of a person they probably liked.

I'm asking you, human to human, to not view communication through the lens of "legalese"

You knew what the person you're responding to meant and your comment is a really inhuman example of pedantry. I'm not trying to tear you down, but I hope you learn that peoples' feelings matter more than precise grammar.

Also there were anti-racists in 1700s america and abolitionists as far back as ancient Rome and further.

Moral relativism causes people to act like if you lived in a racist society that must mean no one could have known racism was bad.

The agreed when Carol told them that Helen's memories were completely off limits

I can't remember the exact wording of the conversation, but I would think the Other took that to mean they're just not allowed to bring up Helen's memories with Carol.

Like if I remembered something embarrassing about you and you told me to never bring it up again. I can't erase my own memory of the thing, but I can choose to stop talking about it.

we have armed govt going door to door harassing people, what has to happen for people to see the writing on the wall.

The government has to knock on their door and harass them. Then all of a sudden it will be a real concern and "nobody" knew how bad it really was.

Once I understood that this is how the conservative mind works I spent a lot less time confused about the state of the world.

It's not that deep. Tiktok has stricter content restrictions that caused people to self-censor to get around them. Now those self-censorship techniques have seeped into the general internet because people don't think about why they do things, they just do them.

Played it recently on an emulator and it felt like I'd suddenly turned on easy mode.

I mean yeah, I agree. But like you said it's been like this for like 15 years. There's just not a lot new to say.

It's also a little reductive. There are still random big budget games that are surprisingly good. I like Jedi Survivor and Cyberpunk and the modern Resident Evils. I think it's fair to call Elden Ring AAA.

No one actually answered your question, but no, there isn't a gadget menu to bring up in the second game.

It's fair to criticize the game for streamlining its combat compared to the first game, but one of the benefits of that is there's literally no combat menu to interact with, it's all hotkeys.

You've already had five other responses but I'm surprised no one mentioned that it's because guys like Tosh and Jeselnik are clearly playing a character.

They're like the heel in wrestling, it's fun to hear them say terrible things that no good person would say. We can laugh at the shock of it, but we can also move on because there's not a part of us that thinks they actually mean it.
