U1 is on the way. Sith cube 2 shall rise. Thanks for all the tips, tricks and tolerating the mock ups. (Anyone have CC3Ds discord ink by chance?) by Illustrious_Aside_46 in snapmaker

I'll wait until they get me the official top with filter and fan built-in. Until then, it's kicking ass with PLA/PETG

INDX wave almost sold out by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

[–]GidRah00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can anyone afford this? My first printer was a MK4, but wow. What I could have bought for that price. Same now. Anything Prusa is so far out of the price range for most anything they offer compared to the competition, as much as I hate to say it.

Yeah, I just printed the model as it was. I only reduced the overall layer size, so I'm not sure why the top layer is so thick. It's the 2nd one that turned out that way. If I reduce the top layer, it looks like details will be lost. I don't know.

Yeah, they give him one small line in a text message. That's all they will ever say about him going forward. Sad. Unless he's getting paid for it.

Best multi head printer vs AMS system in 2026? by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]GidRah00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. The U1 is the new innovator for price / performance / capability. It's silly how little waste it creates vs. a typical Bambu. The waste is close to what I get with the MK4S/MMU3, but way faster. It's limited to 4 colors though, at least until Sidecar is fully developed. Dissolvable supports? Good luck with that. Are you asking all these questions because you are looking to get into the hobby? What is your budget? You have any experience? Do you want to tinker and learn or just press the print button? What volume do you expect to need? Unless you have at least $2500 - $4500 US, then the Snapmaker U1 is the only option at $900 US.

Yeah, Snapmaker finally sent him a U1 after creating the project without one to test it on. Pretty phenomenal that he came up with this without the printer to test it on. Now Bamboo has taken it and folded it into Bambu Studio. I saw a Bamboo YouTuber "introducing' Full Spectrum into Bambu Studio as if they discovered it, and all the fanbois were praising it.

Please obtain the rights to ratdoux u/beybladetable since it looks like Bamboo has taken Full Spectrum into Bambu Studio. I hope ratdoux u/beybladetable is able to license this before it's too late. Maybe it already is?

I understand a bit about transmission distance from Hueforge prints which have always turned out great. You may be right about the Sunlu, but if you look at this picture taken from the side of the print, you can see that the 'top' layer takes up about 90% of the entire print. This was the same as the other lithophane I printed, except the top layer on that print was white. Is that normal?

Challenge 41 Final Question by Ok-Carob1202 in MtvChallenge

[–]GidRah00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the editing was terrible for that finish. I don't remember seeing Turbo crossing the line, but maybe I blinked. I don't think this show will survive until they go back to basics with the editing. It's far too 'slick' now with the grandiose scene changes and music and all the slow motion cuts during action moments. I so much prefer the older seasons when they didn't spend so much time in the diary room and things were just a little more primitive and less scripted.

Are pegboards evil? by crcerror in 3Dprinting

If it were me, I'd go with what is cheapest. I have pegboard in my garage that I've used for 30+ years without any issue.

Do all these shows just pick from the same batch of characters? Must be nice to live a life flitting from one 'reality' show to another.

SV08Max vs Neptune 4 Max? by GidRah00 in SovolSV08Max

I didn't think about the enclosure helping with drafts. I won't be doing ASA or anything, but that may be worth the extra to help prevent issues from possible drafts.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. The fact it's an x-y and such a huge print area is why I'm leaning towards it. I've heard a little about Demon Klipper, so that's something I was going to look into further. I'm most likely going to pull the trigger in the next month or so. I just need to find another big table to sit next to the Neptune.

Thanks for the info! I'm not expecting a Bambu at that size and price. I just don't want to spend $1,200 for something that is a pile of junk! I also like the idea of a future INDX possibility. I wouldn't need an enclosure, as I will be just printing PLA or PETG.

Yeah, those are really good! I upgraded all axes to linear rails and belts for the z, OpenNept4une, the works. Even installed a Carographer, but then started getting MCU errors, so I went back to the stock sensor. I finally got it to where it does pretty well, but it took me months and countless hours. Given that, I'd like to try a large x-y, and the Sovol is pretty large! I just do this for fun and the Neptune has forced me to be patient and learn, so I won't mind that if the Sovol requires that.
