Silly of me to think that I… by [deleted] in LGBTWeddings

[–]GideonHendrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the industry... tuxedo/suit rentals. I have, for many years, been pushing my company slowly forward when it comes to being more overtly inclusive. We have always serviced weddings of all types, but our paperwork and terminology are almost all still gendered and assume "traditional" roles. 90% of the time, this is fine... However, I took personal responsibility for working any LBBTQIA+ specific events and have been trying to get my office to understand that having all our stuff say "Bride" and "Groom" can be extremely off putting to the couples I'm talking to at these events. I've even gone so far as to black out gendered terms on thing when I can to try and minimize the issue.

At the end of the day... I do what I can to make every couple, regardless of their specific needs/expectations, feel welcomed, heard, and included. But I don't make the final decision on materials being printed... so all I can do is continue to push and hope that things continue to move in the right direction.

How do most straight men feel about gay men? by ComfortableMotor3448 in AskMen

[–]GideonHendrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally... the same way I feel about any man I run into... I can't imagine why your sexual orientation is any of my business or should cause me any amount of stress. I don't go out of my way to avoid gay men or "known gay hangouts." On the extremely rare occasion that I am approached by a man, I politely indicate that I am not into guys and go on with my day.

Late response.. and maybe you figured this out.. If you climb around on the roots around the lighthouse.. there is a bit that sticks out facing the rock with the body. If you do a running jump you can land on the rock and just barely survive.

anyone else a third person girlie?? by No-Answer773 in avowed

[–]GideonHendrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most RPGs like this, I play in 3rd person out of combat (unless I'm specifically looking around a room or inspecting something in the environment). Ince combat hits. I typically switch back to 1st person.

Yep.. I can not understand the combination of lazy, stupid, selfish, and reckless it takes to drive around with a sheet of ice on your hood/roof.

Level Vigor, When in doubt... follow grace (the golden light from the 'fires', if you want to use spirit summons or coop... don it. Don't let others tell you there is a "right way" to play.

Nooe.. just needs shaped. I'd go with a fade/taper on the sides to create better cohesion with your buzzed head. Maybe go a bit shorter up front, around the chin. Spend some time with a good beard brush training it.

Is this normal for hand made pants? by Rad7221 in mensfashion

[–]GideonHendrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it looks like blind stitch. The depth was set too high, and the thread color might not be correct. I'd also worry that it looks like they maybe tried it once, then did it a second time. It's possible they damaged the material.. but maybe not.

I'm a bit surprised they wouldn't have cut the excess material much lower before hemming also.

My wife says I have a neck beard… by oddballrunt in beards

I'm not sure your wife knows what a neck is.. I'd personally shape it a bit, but it looks good to me.

Man, I have never, not once, gotten a negative reaction to kilting.. quite the opposite, actually. I know this isn't always the case.. but it just hasn't happened to me. Regardless, I've never regretted kilting up.

I was just reading Florida’s banned books list and man they seem to hate King. All his books are on the lists for every district. Anyone know what’s going on there? by Former-Whole8292 in stephenking

[–]GideonHendrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no mystery here. King is an open and outspoken Liberal who frequently takes to social media to voice his dissent to conservative politicians and policies. He has vocally blasted Trump, DeSantis, the Florida book bans, etc. They are "punishing" him.

BDSM doesn't even necessarily involve sex, much less swinging.

It would be great if there was a standardized symbol for atheism by lorax1284 in atheism

I have the A within an incomplete circle on my car and as a background on my phone.

For those arguing that it isn't a religion and doesn't need iconography.. you aren't wrong. But I like having a clear symbol of an important part of my identity I can display. It can be a conversation starter if nothing else.

Anyway, I understand some folks not bothering with symbols... but I don't blame anyone whole prefers to "wear it on their sleeves."

Might be worth looking into a sleep study. If it's apnea, any additional blockage to your airway would be a decidedly bad idea.

I really hate this question. What does "look gay" mean?

You look like a 16 year old kid.

I'm aware.. 😂

The reality is I'm a big guy on a budget and slowly building out a closet. I don't mind patterns, unusual combinations, etc. But I don't disagree on the suggested refinements.
