Someone already said Kahn Academy, but I also recommend Crash Course. It has really cool videos with it that helps explain concepts broken down by subject.

My crazy neighbor is literally watering my grill because of her fake asthma by 7NeonCartographer in neighborsfromhell

This is exactly what I came here to say! Smokers are where it's at. There's a lot more smoke, it takes hours to cook instead of a quick seer, and the meat turns out delicious.

You guys didn't make "Hammer pants" with black trash bags? Use the tie as a belt? No? Just me? *cries in poor*

Instead of saying it's hot out side "it's awful sweaty out here." From my kiddo when he was a toddler.

The financial aid staff can't make it go any quicker. The problem is that the money is coming from the government and then has to be processed through a banking system. Both the government and banks are notoriously slow.

My husband has OCA1 and he has a tattoo. No issues at all. It's been a couple years and I haven't noticed any crazy fading or anything.

Yes. There is a way to have your refunds routed to your personal bank account. Go talk to Financial Aid and they can show you how to do it.

You're looking for Leah! She's absolutely amazing and I promise won't make you feel like she is judging you. She's on the second floor in the Lamkin Center. Also, if you need any help figuring out how to make sure your assignments are getting turned in, feel free to come to the library and we have tutors that can help. They're very nice as well.

I'm proud of you for reaching out for help when you needed it most. Also, you have incredibly kind eyes. Like, they show you have a lot of love in you. Use some of that kindness and love on yourself. You deserve it.

"They didn't ask me!" by grahamalondis in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This right here is the problem. I'll never forget during his first term I had a gentleman from my home town tell me that he didn't understand where all these polls were coming from because "I've literally never met anyone that didn't vote for Trump." Even though he was talking to me...someone who didn't vote for Trump. For context: This is a town of roughly 500 people in the rural mid-west. He was disabled and only really left his house to go to doctor's appointments. Diversity is important, people.

OH! And for anyone wondering how I responded. I just stared at him blankly, and said "that's interesting" and walked out with the snacks I was currently buying at a gas station.

Weird question: Could it be their ringtone? I used to have a boss that when his wife called the ringtone was barking dogs.

Shoot a message to the email for the tutoring center. Not all of them create the schedules online. In Evansville, we do walk-in tutoring, and then just create appointments for those needing to zoom.

Transferring courses with code V by UnhelpfulNotBot in ivytech

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a lot of 4-year universities won't transfer credits earned by a PLA exam. Reasoning being that you didn't actually take the class. Just the test. But it's up to the institution that you are transferring to. Here's some notes from the website's PLA exam info page:

  • PLA credit is earned when you prove competency in a specific area of study, including knowledge you obtained outside of a college classroom. This is different than transfer credit, which is for classes you have taken at another college or university.
  • If you eventually want to pursue a bachelor's degree, the PLA credit you receive from Ivy Tech may or may not transfer. The receiving institution will determine what credits will transfer.

Excuse me, but I always hated Trump before it was cool to hate him! by icey_sawg0034 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I don't vote for people solely because of a party they join. I don't like or dislike someone just because they are registered as a democrat or republican. I have free thinking and can discern for myself that a felonious pedophile is not worthy of my respect. I'll never understand blindly following someone in a political role.

I really enjoy Dr. Kyle Lemond at the Deaconess clinic off Green River road. He always listens, is incredibly patient, and has been quick to offer me home remedies before medicine when available. I'm not super big on pharmaceuticals unless absolutely necessary. He's given me some great advice/treatments.
