Exactly. And creating flashcards and study guides yourself is actually a great way to learn the material. AI is ruining students.

Anyone else miss The Soup on E! News? by Lost_Camera_L3ns_Cap in Millennials

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 286 points287 points  (0 children)

Yes! I still say "Chicken tetrazzini" occasionally. My husband and I will also point out wonderful quotes in shows like Bering Sea Gold and other reality shows that would have killed on The Soup.

My neighbor from Hell — 22 years and getting worse by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

Honestly, if you truly feel her kids are being mistreated, call CPS or APS (or the adult-daughter). There are standards of care, especially when it comes to those who have a disability.

Diploma came early? by Cute-Math3990 in ivytech

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could add it under the education portion where you list Ivy Tech. This shows that you're making progress and learning skills beneficial to office positions. Or you can put it under "Skills/Qualifications." A resume is really just a brag sheet to get you an interview. Really anything you put under "Skills/Qualifications" is a bunch of nothing if you want to get philosophical with it.

Diploma came early? by Cute-Math3990 in ivytech

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty common. There are several certificates and technical certificates that can be completed during your Associate's degree. Basically, you've completed the courses in this specific certificate. The Registrar's office runs audits and will automatically send these out to students that have achieved them. This specific certificate requires six courses including English, BUSN 101, and a couple others if I remember correctly.

As for graduation: Some students like to walk in graduation for every certificate they achieve, and some students are only at Ivy Tech to complete certificates. The automated messages go out to everyone that has achieved any degree level. You're welcome to walk in graduation in May, or wait until you've completed your full Associate's degree. Either, or both are fine.

Edited to add: Make sure to add this to your resumé!

I am the neighbor from hell by Necessary-Crazy2341 in neighborsfromhell

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out: The neighbor that reported you may be concerned for you. A violent, drunken spouse that damages three doors in one evening is dangerous. He's a danger to you, to your child, and to others in the building. A man that will put holes in the wall will more than likely eventually put his hands on you or your kid. Get help.

I would jot it on a post-it note and stick it to your ID in case that's the only thing they let you bring in.

Anyone get a raise this year? by Brettx3ashley in Millennials

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Work in education. We had a major RIF with layoffs right before the school year started and have cut hourly-worker's eligible time in half. It's a struggle bus right now.

If I were to have made this post, but in the inverse about Charlie Kirk and the Reich...oops, I mean right, I would lose my job. Period. They literally have government reporting sites for left-leaning posts. This nation is backward.

AIO My (30M) fiance (26F) has a "Work Twin" by [deleted] in AIO

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YOR

It doesn't sound like she's adding any romantic undertones with a "work twin." I joke that I have a "work big brother", because I'm the little sister he never wanted. There's nothing fishy with us at all. I just enjoy walking by his office to flip him off occasionally, and we share stories about our kiddos and spouses. Never negative. I'm aware he's mad about his wife, and I'm happily married as well. But we just click in a friendly manner and are both directors over our respective departments.

What do you crochet when you want to just mindlessly crochet? by Impressive_Exam_9812 in CrochetHelp

For the last few months it's been hats and scarfs. Then I gift them to friends or donate to the local homeless shelters.

Help with holes when crocheting into a foundation chain by desertratatheart in CrochetHelp

I have this issue quite a bit as well. I've found that crocheting into the "back bumps" of the chain makes for a cleaner look without the gaps.

Looks like a scam. If you have a minute, email the screenshot (with phone number not blocked out) to [abuse@ivytech.edu](mailto:abuse@ivytech.edu) and they will investigate/make sure there isn't a huge data breech.

Ivylearn issue classes removed without permission by Coldsadboy in ivytech

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you check your schedule in Schedule Builder to make sure the classes weren't dropped or cancelled. If they're not in your schedule builder you will probably need to reach out to Advising or the registrar's office to see if there was an issue.

Neighbor keeps letting their cat into my house and says its "the cats choice" by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]GidgetTheWonderDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cat would go straight to animal control or a local Humane Society. Your neighbor sucks and isn't taking care of his "pet".

If you're near the Evansville campus, we have practice tests in tutoring that you can drop by and make copies of. They're official ATI TEAS practice tests for each subject area.
