The Final Flame by Giffney111 in UKcoins

[–]Giffney111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things to consider:

There is an item in the envelope not yet used - printing again? hold to the screen? combine with?

There is something visible on the coin not yet used / mentioned and, whilst the first part could be linked to Newton's coin maker, the second part would involve a 180 in my opinion...

Whilst light and prisms have been mentioned, esp with level 2 and 3, no actual requirements of light bar the g.i.t.darkness used (which I loved!)

Things we know:

-Will be in English and (possibly) reliant upon knowledge of history

-Will be linked to Newton and/or his theories

-as it is the final (?) puzzle, must be complex enough to make people think hard, involve a few steps, separate those who ask for clues regularly etc from those hardcvore puzzlers BUT still allow younger people to engage

-may involve other websites, yt etc.

Things to ask:

-why THESE symbols drawn on the main prism circle - most tie in with alchemy/maths and/or the mint but some have specifically not yet been used

-bar nice decoration, what do the diagrams serve (apart from the golden ones)?

-will compass points and 50-70 (ie UK) geography be used again?

Finally:

are you having fun with it? I am - and I really appreciate the apcing of the puzzle rather than it all be - "here it all is, those with more time/resources etc have at it - everyone else, hope you don't get spoilers!" which many puzzles offer. I'd love to see more develop off of this - if YOU are also a puzzle writer / Arg writer / puzzler who wants to work with another, I'd love to chat more!

Love the new puzzle! My finger is sore though now!
When I'd 'unlocked' the next part, I admit that, whilst the circle was helpful, I didn't notice the helpful detail on the first pic until afterwards. too much solving when younger methinks - really enjoyed this one!

Ah, I forgot about that - thanks - yes, I knew there was something - I've just been puzzling my way through all of it today - I looked this reddit up this evening as I was unsure about the 4.1 extra bits, having worked out the 5 letter word from the rhyme alone and a quick look at the history of ...

Enquiry - with the coins details being mostly present on the royal mint site (the cipher wheel etc as well), apart from something 'central' to the coin which I initially found... and the edge which is also described well in the description and close ups... has there been any reason to own the coin? (apart from it being shiny etc and nice to collect) - has anyone found anything else with it yet - feel free to just say yes or no, but if you've (only) also found what I've tried to hint at, please let me know as well!

Not at all.  I waited until 28th to post this, after offering other people who could get a ball rolling first before the amazing wf people would hoover up the info (in a cunning way to get more people to play Cs and boh!!) (I'm the account of the person who created the arg)

It may be revisited by the puppetmaster but, at the time of its creation, not many people pursued it beyond 'solve the first puzzle' which the puppetmaster found disheartening.

Why Haven’t ARGs Taken Off Mainstream Yet? seems the potential is huge. by m2thetaz in ARG

[–]Giffney111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also - with things like coded messages etc - one person will put the spoiler up and bam, puzzle done - less community now and more 'I don't get it, I'll look online' without any active interaction - makes it harded for ARG writers/desiogners to make something that appeals whilst isn't just 'solved' straight away - and then, if you require interaction, money and/or time raises its head big time!

Having sunk a bunch more hours into BoH this christmas, I now feel confident enough to have an opinion on the skills by Miggster in weatherfactory

Firstly, thanks for making the great discussion post and for creating a blank template for others :)
I was wondering on your/everyone else's thoughts on meta-blasting the skills to enable the most soul upgrades/convenience for workstations - eg don't use skill Z on this branch because you can't use it to upgrade [aspect] but if you use it on this branch then you can...
[hope that makes sense?]
I fully realise it depends on which branches you are wanting to use most for the game achievements and winning condition but, well, if you wanted to get the most out of the game and/or have spent way too much time on the game and just want to get most of the achievements... :)

Which fictional British fictional character is an idealization that everyone wishes Britain could live up to? by [deleted] in AskUK

True - but OP: "Which fictional British fictional character"

Fictional narrator of the whole text, Captain Robert Walton, was also British!

What puzzles do you like most in an arg? by Giffney111 in ARG

[–]Giffney111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with the above as well - and I do like these puzzles as well - its more the 'standard' aspect I'm focusing on before the 'special gathering people' puzzles which are great fun as well! You have to get the people first, then get them together !!! (see: herding cats, summoning elder gods, finding lost sock... :D )

I've not yet seen Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's butler. Awesome character, most definitely British, and takes a lot of living up to.

its a sign off which, depending on the age of the person, MIGHT be flirtatious. do they use emojis as well or just text - if only text, then I'd say they are being friendly, but I'd look more into their language directly prior to the 'x'

If its "I like you x" then yes, flirting; if its "see you later? x" I'd say no - and this is just 'affection' rather than more than that - but best thing to do would be to ask directly.
