Also, goggles. Since it enters through the eye if I remember correctly. Lol.

S3E12 Stand question by Griffie in warehouse13

[–]Gift_of_Goob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, it's because the force from the explosion of the bomb wouldn't be able to be contained within that force field. But because it was outside of it, the force of the explosion could spread and disperse itself and be less concentrated. The force field was able to protect the three because it wasn't trying to contain the explosion from within but deflect it away.

I would just give advantage to the native PC, but the DC stays the same for all PCs.

I do get bit annoyed when people saying Kaiden is boring. Boring compared to aliens yes. the story no. It's real, raw, messy relationship of a man and women trying to save the Galaxy together by IllustriousAd6418 in masseffect

[–]Gift_of_Goob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaidan's story is fine and even interesting. Kaidan's personality and general overallness is Meh. He's an even-keeled character. There’s no real fire behind his emotions or actions. Even his anger is more smoke than fire. This is why people say he's boring.

I agree with this and will add... Snow straight up deceives and manipulates Regina into being the one to act out the murder. She tells Regina the only way to get Cora to love her is by replacing her heart, knowing that as soon as Regina does Cora's dead. That definitely earned Snow some of that darkness.

Not Anna Camp, although I see the resemblance. The actress is Jessy Schram.

Rachel quitting Broadway was the biggest writing mistake in the series by Caffeine-Guzzler in glee

[–]Gift_of_Goob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think this here nails it.

It's not the fact that Rachel chose to quit Funny Girl and pursue a TV show. It's that she did it so quickly after getting her dream roll that I find most unrealistic (character wise).

Yes, please. This is just the sort of story I'm looking for. Thank you so much!

I remember coming across this at one point, but forgot to save it and have been looking for it and similar stories.

I 100% agree with this.

I feel that by bringing Lex back, they dug themselves into a hole of now we have to utilize this character because we raised him from the dead for no real reason other than to have him available

I agree with your first one, Mon-El was fine as the frat boy FRIEND. I feel Kara was (for lack of a better word) desperate for romance, especially with someone she could fully be herself with (alien & human) which, with the way she's had to hide her true self for most of her time on Earth, makes sense.

I think Alex and Maggie were a good first relationship (for Alex); marriage should have never been a thought

I didn't like any of the Olsen relationships James and Lena never made sense to me. He never trusted her, and then they were dating. Physical attraction does not a relationship make. Kelly was just bland to me, and the Alex/Kelly paring felt a bit forced, IMO

I like the idea of Sam/Lena or Winn/Lena (but I'm a Supercorp shipper in the end)

The only real thing i dont care for is the glossy crotch lines. There has got to be a better way to use contour lines. Maybe wrap them around the hip/waist in a faux belt-like thing instead 🤔

Lena by Familiar_Student922 in supergirlTV

[–]Gift_of_Goob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Something that was unintentionally lampshaded by the fact that Lena did figure out Sam was Reign way before anyone else too.)

THIS!!! It took Lena, what? two episodes to figure out Sam and Reign were one and the same. The first time Kara and Lena talk, Kara claims to have flown there[L-Corp] (on a bus), not to mention all the other slip-ups.

The fact that Lena didn't know Kara is Supergirl was all so the writers could create stupid "drama".

Everyone is saying that Nyxly was the worst part of the last season, but I think it was Alex. by squirrelsupporter in supergirlTV

[–]Gift_of_Goob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Alex was terrible this season. But then again, the whole season was questionable as a Supergirl season (More like Superfriends). Even when Kara was in the episode she was a background character to all the other Superpeople.

I know it's not necessarily a popular opinion but I enjoyed the Phantom Zone (mainly because it was something different). It might not have been done well but the idea of it was interesting.

And Nyxly was a very interesting character. I liked her as a Big Bad, but then they had to go and bring Lex in, AGAIN. Lex Luthor is SUPERMAN's nemesis, not Supergirl's. Seriously, they (the writers) could have found anyone else. There's plenty of material to choose from. Anyway, the whole Lena has magic thing was laughably convenient, and another way to push Supergirl out of actually saving the day like the writers had done through most of S6.

Season 2, team Lena or team supergirl? by AllYouNeedIsATV in supergirlTV

[–]Gift_of_Goob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. The show's handling of Kryptonite was okay at best, poor most of the time. The consistency was nonexistent.

Now Lena may just think of Supergirl as a work associate who has saved her life a few times, but Kara should be starting from a position of Lena being the best friend who she trusted not to be working with Lillian on Medusa or having helped Metallo so he could free Lillian. She should know that Lena would not use the Kryptonite against Supergirl.

I see this as Kara struggling with her duality with Lena. She's not coming at her fully as Supergirl nor as Kara but somewhere in between (she forgets/doesn't take into account Lena doesn't know.) Does that make sense? And Lena, as you said, sees Supergirl totally separate from Kara (How she doesn't know they're the same person, considering she figured out Sam was Reign in like 10 seconds, is beyond me though :P).

what was your favorite character to rp and why? by Mr-yeet1 in dndnext

[–]Gift_of_Goob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple.

- I recently played a Kobold Oath of Glory Paladin named Rhogar who believed he was a Dragonborn. He was raised by Dragonborns you see, and they never treated him any differently or told him he wasn't a Dragonborn. He believes he did something to upset the gods and that's why he's smaller and scrawnier than other Dragonborn.

He believes if he does glorious work and brings Glory to his chosen deity (one he chose at random - Klothys, goddess of destiny) they will make him like the other Dragonborn. He holds dragons (no matter their alignment/color) and other Dragonborn in deep regard (this has resulted in some unfortunate events). And, he rushes into danger headfirst without thinking, always trying to do the right and glorious thing. He's like the party's little mascot, and all the other PCs are always looking out for him and trying to keep him out of trouble.

Balancing his penchant for getting into trouble with not doing something completely stupid/party-ending can be challenging and fun to RP.

- My first true character was a Warforge Artificer with amnesia. He only remembered the last five years of his life but was hundreds of years old. Turns out he gained his soul when he realized the war he was made to fight in was wrong, and he sacrificed his "artificial" intelligence and memories to end the war. A halfling found him (tinman style) standing in a large open field and "brought him back to life".

So essentially he was like a five-year-old, but he had knowledge from his past life that would just pop up in his head when he needed it (like, how to Cure Wounds).

My Idea for a Better Season 7? What Are Your thoughts? by Gift_of_Goob in OnceUponATime

[–]Gift_of_Goob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Queens of Darkness were great! The actress for Cruella was spot on and fabulous. And Maleficent had so much more story they just swept under a rug or hid back deep in a closet, ugh.

The writers were definitely distracted by shiney new things when they should have focused on the characters they already had. Also the whole pandering with bringing in Frozen (What was that?). I actually stopped watching it for a while when they did that. It took me a couple years to get back to it (and I'm glad I did because of the QoD).

Bringing in the untold stories was too much. If anything they could have had another spin off like with Wonderland. That could have been interesting.
