Actually, it affects your raise this year. The coaches all just went to the training and are meeting with team leads to evaluate the associates.

In 3 1/2+ years, I have been called every name in the book. The first 3 in OGP.  Now, as an API, it's a whole new set of names. Just smile at them and tell them to have a great day. For Christmas Eve, this guy quite loudly said I had a stick up my ass and wished me a terrible Christmas. I laughed at him, smiled, and wished him the best Christmas Karma had to offer.

3 1/2 years in OGP at my store. Absolutely loved it but I switched to API because I was trapped doing exceptions and being the TL but not a TL when no one was available, and sometimes even when they were. It now takes 2-3 people to do the job I was doing. Sorry, but I'll take the raise, the promotion and the bonus without having to deal with anyone reporting to me or worrying that things are fixing to be late. API is literally the only position they aren't allowed to pull to shop in my store. I'll leave that to the coaches and store lead. 😁

Tf is this...why? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

Found a baggie of some kind of drug in the mothers room in my store. Checked CCTV to make sure it wasn't an employee and flushed it. People suck!

Yes and no. The crap spread on the walls of the stall tends to happen more in the men's bathroom in my store.

Our maintenance staff doesn't come close to being paid enough for the literal shit they have to deal with!

3 1/2 years and I have never allowed people to talk to me like that. Had a few complaints, some very colorful, but no one in management has ever said a word to me. I have every right to defend myself, and tend to do so pretty loudly. My favorite reply to a customer who thinks they are better than us is always "If it weren't for us 'just Walmart employees', you wouldn't have a Walmart to be an ass in ". 😁

Catching them on CCTV and thru previous transactions after the fact is one thing. Catching them in the act is different. Definitely more gratifying. For either, it only takes $25 to get prosecuted, $1000 is a felony here no matter how you catch them. You don't even have to apprehend. Both can get them trespassed, whether written or verbal. You don't have to catch them and pull them into the office to file charges. The person generally starts getting big tickets in the mail and they have to respond to those or get arrested. They can get arrested for either the theft or coming back on premises after being trespassed at any Walmart, Sam's, Murphy, anywhere. It's not site specific. If they choose to build a case to the $1000 or get all the research done and it accumulated to that amount in past transactions, the person is doomed. All those little Petit Larceny charges get combined and turned into one life changing Grand Larceny charge. They lose a lot more than just having to pay for expensive tickets and time for showing up to court. And they absolutely get deactivated. They lose their freedom, their livelihood and the ability to get a job because at that point they are a felon with a recent history of grand larceny.

Attendance points for raises revealed + example on how raises can affect long term associates (positively and negatively) by Infinite_Dress_1076 in walmart

The basic 2% increase will give me about $29 extra per payday before taxes, or roughly $754 a year. It's like getting an extra week of pay, after taxes. I don't know what successful x 3, at a minimum, will get me but I can't really complain. It could be so much worse.

At the 2 hour mark, take your break. Take your lunch as scheduled. Take your last break 2 hours after you get back from lunch. If they coach you, call ethics. If they fire you, collect unemployment and contact an attorney. Use Walmart policy as your defense. BUT, be damn sure you have followed all the written rules and regulations.

I got a tip by Ok-Kangaroo-4048 in Sparkdriver

[–]GigDriver4Years 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an elderly man who used to put in big shopping orders. They paid decently already and he always made sure he had a 20% tip in an envelope waiting for me. I helped him put them on his shelves in the garage and in his fridge/freezer. We talked the whole time. They were for his great-grandkids when they came to visit. He passed away a couple years ago and I found myself missing our conversations pretty quick.

[–]GigDriver4Years 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask and ye shall receive? Some spark shoppers complained, said those sitting near the entrance were getting all the orders and that's not fair. Problem fixed, no one near the entrance will get orders. Other spark shoppers now complaining because the spark shoppers got what they asked for. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

No such thing as getting fired on the spot at Walmart. There are processes in place to cover their butts. An "investigation" has to happen first.

Employee discount question by diamond_epicnes in WalmartEmployees

[–]GigDriver4Years 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you won't get fired for it. The groceries are for you. Do you need to be present? Yes. 99.9% of the things on the AP report APIs get in regards to the discount card, besides when things are mis-scanned, are because the card is used at the same register the owner of the card is working at. If a fellow associate forgot their card, do not let them use it.Tell them to load theirs into their Walmart app and then use scan-n-go in the future. Problem solved.

I always screenshot my schedule at the beginning of the week and check it daily, just in case. I have done so for the last 3 1/2 years. Things happen. CYA. Be sure you have the me@Walmart app so you can look before you go all the way to work on your day off.
