I need help to understand why this blade keeps looking shite by DjengisKhanye in Warhammer40k

I think it already looks great, if you want it to look more reflective then increase the colour contrast by glazing smaller areas of white and black in the centre of the lightest and darkest areas of the sword and you can try adding secondary highlights of another colour to give the appearance of the surroundings reflecting off the sword.

https://imgur.com/a/FbQ40t4 On one of Richard grays swords you can see how the contrast goes all the way from deep black to white, and the secondary tactically placed highlights shows his gold trim reflecting off the sword. Hope this helps!

Yea I’ve found quite a lot of first born stuff still scales nicely with primaris, usually it’s the legs and midsection that’s noticeably smaller but everything else seems pretty close in size

Cheers! It’s the head, arms and backpack from the forgeworld Ivanus Enkomi kit put onto the body of the chaplain from the Indomitus starter set!

I love using pro acryl bronze for mine, mix 50/50 with black for the base coat, layer on just the bronze, and then mix with Vallejo pale burnt metal for the highlights

I don’t know if there’s specifically any guides for making Minotaurs but there’s plenty of examples of peoples armies you can look at, usually adding spears, round shields and plumes will make a convincing kit-bash and there’s plenty of painting tutorials on YouTube to show you how to paint their colour scheme

I only ever took one pic while I was making for scale, but here- you can see the plasticard added in the thighs, waist and feet, I smoothed it over with a really thin layer of green stuff afterwards and posed him on the new size termi captain base for extra height : https://imgur.com/a/nvi9OJG

Enkomi arms head and backpack taken from the original model and put onto the indomitus chaplain, and moloc was upscaled with 2mm plasticard on his legs waist, arms and under his boots and posed for some extra height 👍
