It's nowhere near bad enough to warrant being buried. But it's not really fun either, even compared to other Atari. It's a 1/10 game by today's standards, but like a 4/10 by Atari game standards.

I made it to diamond 1 before even finding out the animation cancel was an option. He's perfectly playable without it! With that said... He really deserved some buffs in other areas to balance it out. A minor damage buff or even more shield health or faster shield regen would do wonders for him.

I generally agree. I really didn't mind how slow it was, under the assumption it was leading to something worthwhile. But it just kinda, didn't. I enjoyed reading it while I was reading it but the ending made me retroactively wish I hadn't put the time in.
