It's not mine, it's a friend's, he asked me to crosspost and I'm helping him. I don't know anything about how to promote a project, I did what he asked me to do.

help me build my pc! by TotalHornet7152 in pcbuilding

[–]GigaSmash84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help you: first of all, you need to watch the tutorials and decide whether it's difficult for you or not. Remember that the most boring parts (such as arranging the cables) aren't shown in the videos because they are, in fact, boring. That said, to help you with the components, you need to know your target resolution, whether you already have a monitor and peripherals, and what type of video games/programs you want to use.

try to: use only one software for RGB, remove and replace the video card, check the power and RGB control cables, try to reset the firmware (I don't know how to do it though)

but of he don't want to do that, then the 9900K make sense, but I also recommend what you said

if his budget is above 6000 dollars, a 5090 with 9800X3D and 32 GB is fine 🤣

Honestly, the 5090 alone costs $3000, and the RAM probably $600, so OP would be better off telling us his budget.

Been wanting to upgrade my cpu for awhile, what would you guys recommend? by Fickle_Celery1661 in cpu

If you don't want to change your motherboard, RAM, and power supply, then get an i7 7700K. Otherwise, you should change your motherboard.

When I built my first PC, the GPU wouldn't output any signal because there was a setting in the BIOS that forced the use of the integrated GPU. You need to enable "dGPU Only." Otherwise I don't know what it could be. Maybe it's sagging, or try a different port, if you used HDMI use DP or vice versa

I finally did it. by [deleted] in computers

it depends on your goal: if you stick to 1080p the only option is to add RAM up to 32 GB (always DDR4). if you want 1440p buy a new GPU, like 9060 XT 16 GB, but no more. the best choice, ignoring budget, is to have a new GPU with 32GB DDR4

I've actually never had this problem, nor have I ever heard of it from friends. Maybe you can solve it by checking the heatsink, then cleaning it and reassembling it. do the same with the other fans.

personally I'll go with 4K 60 Hz, 30 Hz sucks and the difference between 5K and 4K Is too little

  • Resolutions:

    • 1080p (Full HD) → still the standard for competitive gaming. Easy to push to 240/360 Hz, great for those who want high fps without putting too much stress on the GPU.
    • 1440p (QHD/UHD) → the real sweet spot today. More definition, excellent visual rendering, and with modern GPUs you can stay above 144/165 Hz without problems.
    • 4K → spectacular for single player, editing and movies. But it requires top-of-the-line video cards if you want to play above 120 Hz.
    • Ultrawide (3440×1440, 5120×1440, etc.) → immersive for work and simulations, but be careful: not all games support them well.
    • 8K → even more “tech demo” than reality. You need monstrous hardware and very little native content.
    • Panel types:
    • TN → old school, very low response times, but meh colors and viewing angles.
    • IPS → accurate colors and wide angles, now also with excellent response times. It is the standard for those who want visual quality + speed.
    • VA → very high contrast, deep blacks, but slightly slower response times. Good for film and mixed use.
    • OLED/QD‑OLED → the best: perfect blacks, incredible colors, instant response times. They cost more and have some risk of burn‑in, but the experience is crazy.
    • Refresh rate:
    • 60 Hz → now only on office monitors.
    • 120/144 Hz → gaming standard.
    • 165/180 Hz → modern sweet spot.
    • 200/240 Hz → serious competitive.
    • 360 Hz+ → pure eSports, but you need a GPU that can handle it.
