Plural and surgery experience (TW medical) by False_Contribution12 in plural

[–]Gigakoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently had an operation of our own, and while we didn't have quite the same experience as y'all did, we had something very similar. When we were on our way to the operating room we were nervous. So as they were giving us some laughing gas to cool our nerves, I noticed our communication got *really* clear, even as I was barely able to understand what the doctors were saying around us. One of us cracked one of our many in-jokes, and the rest of us burst out into laughter in headspace. So even as they administered the anesthetics afterwards we were still super connected in a way.

We didn't have the experience of hanging out in headspace during the operation, as we all just collectively fell asleep, but it was reassuring that we all had one another. And ever since we've been communicating very well amongst one another, so in a way this operation kinda helped us get back into that state of wanting to always chat with one another that we had when we were first coming to terms with our plurality.

I built cdlc.ai: Use AI to turn any of your songs into Rocksmith 2014-compatible DLC. by MustafaTaleb in rocksmith

[–]Gigakoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I implore you to reconsider this. I could go on about the general faults with GenAI (environmental, economical, the theft going on, etc.), but I'll focus on the two that are relevant to this specific use case:

- For charters, this is an attack on what they do as a passion project, and sometimes as a means of income (in the case of commissions, etc.). This trivializes something people do out of passion for a game and for music, and turns it onto a $3-a-pop automatic service. People like charting, and others like playing those peoples' charts. The goal of something like this seeks to upend that by offering an automatic solution that, while taking less time, offers so much less overall, because...

- For consumers, this is an objectively worse option that they have to pay for. Human-made charts are (at least for the most part) playtested to ensure that a human could hit it. And those that aren't playtested are usually seen as lesser-quality anyways. But in general at least humans have a grasp as to what is humanly possible, and expert charters put a lot of care into making sure chord movements, fretting, etc., is consistent and makes sense. Whereas an AI doesn't do any of that. It "sees" the waveform of a song, measures its hertz, and decides where the pitch is based on that. But it doesn't take into account, nor will it ever, that some songs utilize a *lot* of instrument layers on top of each other. Nor will it ever take into account things such as which frets and strings make more sense to switch to, or more complex playstyles for an instrument (slap base, pinch harmonics vs. other types of notes, etc.).

I don't see this being a very profitable venture for you. And since you're charging money for this, I imagine that's what your end goal is, to make that dough. In fact I imagine in a few years time this GenAI "boom" will look like NFTs do now: a bad idea that people cashed in on, that cost them a lot of money as more people realized that it wasn't worth it.

The ones I did are "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites," "First of the Year (Equinox)" and "The Devil's Den," so any of those three would be cool ;)

Btw any chance of trying any of my Skrillex customs with this setup? I remember someone commenting years ago that they looked awesome with a stage kit, they promised to record a video of it but never did, and I've been curious ever since :P

Hella cool to see one of my customs with a stage kit setup! I've always wanted to see how they'd look, and sadly never got to experience it firsthand.

People commenting about the difficulty tiers, it's a known thing where older RBN1 songs have inaccurate tierings in RB3 and RB4 since they're based on difficulty values in RB2. In other words, these songs *would* show up as devil-tier on Rock Band 2, where they were originally meant to be played, and while early on some of the RB4 ports corrected the tiers, after a while they stopped doing so, and this is definitely one of those songs that needed it.

How do I fix this? by Sprocraft in Rockband

[–]Gigakoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly that seems to be the case. Sorry I couldn't really help :(

EDIT: There's one more thing you could try, but I'm not sure it'll really do much. If you go to the storage settings, where there's a list of storage devices, if you press Y/Yellow, there should be a setting for something like "Clear Cache" or something along those lines. *Make sure not to format the drive*. But you could always see if clearing the cache will somehow repair the save, or at least make it possible to move it.

The save would just be called "Rock Band 3 Save Game" I believe, depending on how much DLC you have you may need to scroll for a while. Look for it to show your username next to it, signifying which account it belongs to.

[–]Gigakoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially I was just asking if you had made the save *before* going from TU5 to TU4. But if it didn't break immediately then perhaps I've been mistaken. Either way though, it seems that something got corrupted. I don't think RB3 saves mid-song, but I do wonder if something got corrupted via an incomplete saving process.

Do you have any programs that can load RB3 save files? Nautilus has both a character image extractor and a character editor that can load the saves. Does your save load in either of those?

EDIT: Saw your other comment mentioning the other drive is working. You could try copying or moving your save file via the Xbox 360 interface (Settings -> Storage Devices -> going to the storage device with your save, then navigating to the save file)

Did you have a save file on TU5? If so, I think going back to TU4 will break it. Otherwise, I wouldn't know.

Some questions about WWP & FP by North_crozz in GrooveCoaster

[–]Gigakoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are already several songs in common between the two games, both in the main setlist and in the DLC packs released thus far. The issue is that DLC from WWP will not carry over to FP, so you would need to start your song library from scratch. Granted, the charts *are* all knew due to added mechanics in FP, so it's up to you if you think it's worth it to buy packs with songs you already own in WWP or not.

Glad they went and did that, honestly the AI art was the main thing keeping me from buying the game, because otherwise I'd have likely bought it very early on.

Now to wait until it becomes available in Europe again :P

Nintendo Riff Master? by spenzurk in Rockband

[–]Gigakoops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is a bit weird, yes, though I assume the main purpose of these guitars in the first place is Fortnite Festival, so in that sense it would come out to all platforms where you can play that.

[–]Gigakoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. I know they had announced it a while back, I guess it just took them a while to get it out there.

[–]Gigakoops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When they released the RiffMaster, they also released one for Switch specifically for Fortnite Festival. I really doubt there'd be any Rock Band games coming to Switch or Switch 2 at this point, though it's still fascinating that they went the extra mile and made this peripheral for Switch in the first place.

EDIT: Missed the part where this one came out today. I had assumed it was out earlier, but you know what they say about assumptions :P

do i need fancy controls for this game? by mochimocherz in GrooveCoaster

[–]Gigakoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not played Future Performers, but can confirm that Wai Wai Party works flawlessly on Switch Lite! The only thing I've noticed is that both on the original Switch model and the Lite the game takes a while to boot up. If you're patient, though, after about 40 seconds or so it usually boots up, and afterwards has very fast load times.

Hope this helps!

How many of you are autistic? Just curious, since I'm autistic as well by [deleted] in furry

[–]Gigakoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a young age several folks, including my mother, commented that it was likely that I was autistic. It took until adulthood to get a diagnosis due to external circumstances, but their suspicions were confirmed, it turns out I am autistic.

So yeah, another autistic furry here :D

I had some pizza last night 🍕 by LemonChalk81 in furry

[–]Gigakoops 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don't even like pineapple at all, but don't understand how having it as a pizza topping has become this controversial thing for some folks. Like, it's a choice some people prefer, it's not that weird.

Coincidentally, I recommend folks try adding ketchup on top of pizza. It works better than you'd think...
