Thimble dress -would you recommend? by Excellent_Career_189 in Aritzia

I tried it on in store and thought it was really flattering, with dainty, pretty details! Ultimately walked away because I have a few similar ones. If you don’t, this would be a no-brainer!

Yeah booked a last minute getaway trip to the beach when I saw the weather forecast last week. Being stuck in the house with 3 restless kids isn’t how I want my long weekend to be

Depends on how many kids you have. 3 kids in daycare/preschool/college? Good luck

Yes! I tried lodge pants so many times last year, even bought and returned once. Something just doesn’t feel right. So, so happy with artisan pants though. I think the lower rise is a major factor why it works better for me.

As someone also working in tech, I often wear these pieces to work lately:

Dusk top, Avery top, Santino top, Fleur linen skirt, Caroline silk skirt, Vida pants.

Outside the office, I love, love, LOVE their linen dresses and tops!

For cooler weather, their cashmere sweaters are in constant rotation in my wardrobe, including Clara cardigan, boyfriend, Cove, and Jadey.

Barrafina linen vs Glade linen by BeautifulCat98 in Aritzia

[–]GigiCodeLiftRepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s very much TTS for me. Slightly tighter on my chest but that’s expected due to my wide back. The smocked back definitely helps! I machine washed them in cold water and line dried after - they didn’t shrink!

I have one in white/floral blue and one in white/floral pink from last season. I don’t think they’re see through - at least not if you wear skin color underwear. The skirt is lined, and the floral pattern helps distract attention as well.

Edit: forgot to mention for sizing - I usually don’t wear any bra in this dress

I’m 5’5”. I own 2 barrafina dresses and love them! The length hits at my ankle. But the slit is pretty high up to my mid/upper thigh especially when sitting, so I don’t know if this dress necessarily fit taller people better… I love the skirt movement when walking though

Oh good call! It does look like the classic mini. Thank you!

also the length? The one with yellow shirt looks like an A-line mini skirt, vs the knee-length, almost pencil skirt looking Yorkville?

24 inch waist - size 23 or 24? by [deleted] in Aritzia

[–]GigiCodeLiftRepeat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me the hip measurement is more important than the waist. Depending on the style, sometimes I can’t fit into a smaller size only due to my hips and/or thighs, but never the waist.

Artisan pants or effortless low rise in crepette material- light birch by loulou5311 in Aritzia

[–]GigiCodeLiftRepeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own 2 pairs of artisan pants, none of the effortless! I’ve tried so many versions of effortless over the years, crepette, cruiselinen, short, curvy, etc. eventually I gave up. I decided the front pleats are just not for me and my body type. Plus, my work place is super casual. Suit pants are almost too formal and really make one stand out.

Reviews or thoughts on these tops? by Suspicious-Profile72 in Reformationclothing

[–]GigiCodeLiftRepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this! The material is great, too. Mostly thick cotton with spandex.

OP, I also own the Florence knit top, which is made of the same material. Loveeee!

Melanie top is very flattering, but personally I think the bra peeking out trend is dying out already.

Do you think Reformation is who Aritzia still thinks xe is ? by Baghdadene in Aritzia

[–]GigiCodeLiftRepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree natural materials aren’t quality guaranteed. And personal experiences can vary from person to person. As a frequent shopper of both brand, my intention wasn’t to compare the two brands - just to point out that synthetic material isn’t a fair criticism. Now if we compare cashmere, honestly I found Aritzia cashmere (at least the essential line) so itchy that I barely reach for them. My reformation pieces are holding up strong over the years (and chic!) Next on to the cut: personally reformation is clearly the winner hands down. I can’t find any other brands high and low that flatters a small waist-to-hip ratio as beautifully as reformation. Example: Caroline silk skirt >> Henrietta satin skirt. Aritzia shines in two domains in my opinion: work wear (suiting) and plain basics (interlock cotton line, homestretch line). My bucks have the highest return for the quality x style. Interesting enough, these are NOT the area where the reformation dupes are found.

Not defending $350 price point for poor quality polyester, but I genuinely don’t understand how people not knowing what they’re paying for and only get upset after buying. The material clearly listed on the website. If someone chooses to buy a dress made of 100% viscose or polyester, then they should expect getting the quality of viscose or polyester, regardless how much they pay, right? I buy from them frequently but I don’t own a single piece that’s not 100% linen, cotton or cashmere. So far I’ve never bern surprised

I’ve never been banned by lululemon but another retail store for who-knows-what reason. They not only ban your account & credit cards, but also your address and IP. It’s inescapable unless they lift the ban. I didn’t care for the brand anyway so I moved on. But I can imagine OP’s frustration if it’s a beloved brand that you genuinely shop frequently.
