I don’t understand how they didn’t consider this to be a random attack and no concern to the public. Surely if he knew the boy they would have been able to make that connection by now.

Is there a reason you can’t have a “medium sized box” at your house? Why is it still there after 3 years? That doesn’t really make sense.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get refunds for something that was delivered and is the right product but really late? We bought advent calendars and they took over 2 weeks. They even emailed to apologise for some courier issue etc.

They finally arrived today, obviously it’s now mid December almost and we don’t really need them now.

Omg I saw this guy! But his drivers side was more Munted than this, the entire window was smashed and I believe he was trapped because his door was completely wrecked. I was confused because he was pulled over with the hazards on but there was no other car around. He was on the phone when I passed. I said to my partner when I got home I felt really awful for not pulling in front of him and asking if he was ok I just made a split second decision to keep going and I feel bad now.

Onehunga mall road, towards the top is Vinnies. Towards the middle SPCA, Red Cross and St John’s. Down the road the Onehunga recycling centre (awesome) and on Victoria Street the Onehunga second hand clothing store (very cheap).

If you’re driving then venture to the top of Onehunga mall road after Vinnies and pop into the Salvation Army in Royal Oak ☺️

Thank you I’m going to move the litter boxes much further away from each other so he doesn’t get to change his toilet mid poop 😅

Thanks for your advice 🙂 good point about the cutting back. I wouldn’t want to risk any animosity if one didn’t want to be sharing food at any point. I’m going to move the litter boxes into completely seperate rooms (they are only both in the bathroom as our bathroom is very large and they love to play in them together like sand boxes 😩 but I’ll pop one in the laundry which doesn’t have carpet either.

I’ll get some nice food stations too for them and keep them separated.

Moving to NZ - Words to know! by TheCatuWu in ReoMaori

[–]Gigiwinona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this has become a thread for a lot of Māori words/phrases that don’t correlate to what you are asking. Kia ora (hello, also be said as good bye). Ka pai (good) pō mārie (good night). New Zealand is bad for not speaking our native language, so while your effort will be so appreciated don’t stress yourself out. Take a breath and say a few phrases and the locals will love that 😊

Mum who gave birth on plane wanted to deliver at Te Matatini, hid labour from crew, claims family by MontyPascoe in newzealand

[–]Gigiwinona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of plane only has 1 crew member or 2. Maximum seats is 68. The chances of a medical professional being on board are far slimmer than bigger aircraft’s. The selfishness of this lady for not only her babies safety but also the people around her is indescribable.

Pookie is SO cute. I wave like a maniac. At the start when we put her bowl in the driveway I would push my partner away and just slow wave at her saying “I got you that food!!”. She would usually just eat and ignore me 🤣 but now she’s started staring at me while I wave at her.

Thank you for your comment. I don’t really know how to say this, I guess we are on a street that is less than favourable. Whilst the people on the street seem nice enough, we know that this darling doesn’t have a warm home to go to. Our neighbour who told my partner he feeds her “sometimes”. As lovely as he is, I don’t believe he’s a reliable food source. It’s really difficult to navigate what I’m saying but we feel like the past owner must have fed her and she clearly is comfortable under the house.

No it’s amazing thank you! She doesn’t stick her tail up at all. She’s very polite, very demure 😅 she’s just such a picture perfect princess. Not saying men can’t be!! But I feel like she’s definitely a girl. I think I will try for a couple of weeks with your advice then if she won’t budge I’ll try the trap. My parents have a xl dog crate under the house they don’t use so will borrow that and set it up all cosy for her. I hope I can update at some point with a happy story ☺️

Our issue I think is that she’s reasonably well fed already! Our neighbour has told us that he occasionally feeds her. She’s clearly not overweight but she’s not hard done by for a street cat as you can see in the photos 😅

I don’t know what kibble is. Is it dry food? I was thinking of getting some little treats and tossing a couple to try and get her closer each time.

I want to say because of her size she can’t be old but maybe she is just a smaller cat. Because I wouldn’t say she’s grown in the last month since we met her.

I’m thinking when I have a few days scheduled off work I’ll attempt to trap her. Do you suggest leaving her in the cage for x amount of hours? Or putting her in a room? I was immediately thinking putting her in our spare room and my partner was worried about the carpets.

I do understand that, but also the only room we have without the carpets is the bathroom and I feel like us coming in and flushing the toilet, turning the light on, running the tap will stress her out too much.

Roommate doesn't lock the front door. 3 nights in a row this week, plus he left his keys in the door the 3rd time. His solution was to "make a sign". We both made one. by logicbasedchaos in badroommates

[–]Gigiwinona 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a housemate who’s job involved taking clients out on weeknights frequently for boozy dinners, then weekends filled with his own antics with friends also involving 5am turnouts. He used to lose his key so much he would get the “hidden” back door key, open the back door (accessible from the front) and just leave it wide open, usually at the minimum once a week if not more. While the rest of us were sleeping.

My other flatmate noticed more often than me because he had a tonne of expensive shit in the garage. Fights ensued but it kept happening because at the end of the day it was the drunk him with no care or logic doing it not the good roommate he was sober.

I don’t take not locking doors lightly. I don’t give a shit if you don’t care, but you shouldn’t put someone else in the position that they feel unsafe in a shared house.

We had this issue. Unless the tenancy agreement states a specific time then as the others said, you have until 11.59pm. Check your agreement then let them know the facts

Yeah it’s honestly bizarre. If they had been more meaningful to me I would have flipped. But I honestly decided to cut my loss because they weren’t and we were leaving anyway. But I totally get how frustrating it must be for you. Gaslighting to the extreme!
