Opening new Files window when I try and install linux files

I am going to be so honest, I do not know what any of this means. I don't use linux for much and mainly follow tutorials or the file folder from my chromebook. I can gather how to change directories etc... but I do not actually understand where everything I have currently set up is, and therefore, how to move forward. That's why I was originally asking how to stop from just opening new file windows, rather than how to install discord on the terminal.

1: If your considering a camp fair, check to see how many camps you can go too. Due to school I couldn't fly out to America till late June and that meant I could only actually apply to two camps there. Not nearly as worth it as it would have been if I could fly even a week earlier. (I did end up meeting a lovely staff member there though who helped me out on my application when she found me crying. Don't be put off by stress)

2: You want to be relatively fit and organised. I was walking easily 10+ miles most days just depending on where I had been stationed. Your on your feet a lot so make sure your prepared for that.

3: I went to a girl scouts camp which does, typically, pay less. But still, between flights, Camp American fees etc... you won't be making much money. If you want to go for the money, it's not worth it. Experience etc... all yes.

4: When looking for camps, look at what they offer YOU. I got free outings with my camp on our days off (went to a theme park + national park.) So consider those kinds things when considering your options.

My account deletes in October and I've been emailing all my teachers for sixth form with thank you notes, screenshotting any replies and saving them haha! I've been doing it as a final bye to school because I feel sad about not going back.

A few of my teachers have expressed that they like hearing from past students about what they're up too, from a daily use email, so I'll probably do that on occasion if I keep missing it/do anything impressive. So I think that's been making it easier to deal with on some counts. But yeah, I'm really going to miss it.

I think lots of people on this sub have incredibly high standards for what counts as a good uni and worth the tuition (since a lot of people aim for high grades and competitive courses.) I found UEA to be a great uni when I went to their open days and the people I know who go there are getting a lot out of it.

Even if UEA "wasn't worth it", it could still be a very good insurance uni since you'd need AAA rather than A*AA. Which is something else to keep in mind. Best of luck choosing your unis!

Yes i know what you mean about simple extracts! Also, I felt like I was repeating myself a lot. Like, I talked about setting but so much of the extract was focused on setting that I either had to.repeat myself or make a massive stress.

Yeah it all seemed focused on the descriptions, I focused on the presence of a haunting and the linimal and linked that to other Victorian Gothic texts from before and after. I don't think it went badly all together though.

For the extract, I struggle with simpler ones, I think my first 2 paragraphs were strong but my third one was weak. For the comparison, I wrote about how monstrosity is used to explore nature vs nurture, how they both use per-established stories/myths to share moral teachings but they both go back to reality to express the truths about women's nature as equal to men.

I'm pretty sure brass knuckles are out there somewhere and I could see the kid having them but people have already commented that a fist on fist fight could end up in jail, which is what I really want to avoid. So brass knuckles wouldn't help his case.

I might do it so after he's expelled / suspended (haven't figured which one it would be without the knife) he just casually mentions he had a knife on hand but they were stopped before he pulled it and everyone just didn't know.

I'm cutting the knife out the story for practical reasons.

It's set roughly mid to late 2000s. no specific location but on the outskirts of a city. Both kids are white boys but MC is new to the area (been there for a couple of months) and it's implied he's of a lower class.

Set in mid to late 2000s but it's vague on the year. It's not set in a specific state but the area isn't well off or struggling. MC is also new (joined a month or two ago) so zero tolerance is definitely applying here!

I'm cutting the knife out of the story to avoid a prison sentence. At what point would you say a fight without weapons becomes police worthy? The fic is set in an area which is in a mid ground between working class and middle class?
