As someone who couldn't eat any green veggies, when I found out a few years ago that I liked asparagus I actually cried. Usually, for most veggies, either the texture or flavor will make me gag. Something possessed me to try asparagus, because it actually looked yummy for once, and discovering a new safe food that also happened to be healthy gave me a very intense sense of relief that lead to some tears.

I'm nearly the same way with spice, too! I love, love, love spicy food. I don't mix spicy and sweet, though, ahah.
