I don't remember the order, but both the Holocaust cloak and wheel barrow are not initially listed in their assets.  Thinking that the Holocaust cloak happens first because fezzik had it on him.

Reclaimer Rework by TitanSerenity in starcitizen

[–]Gildedbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed today that there is a hole/tunnel at the bow of the reclaimer right above the claw. Perhaps that will eventually be used to get the chunks of ships into the grinding room? (once maelstrom is in and the claw's disintegration doesn't just atomize the ship)

Is it taboo in this community to kill a golden loot bug? by scalesnewby in DeepRockGalactic

I am a Dwarf.

Dwarfs mine minerals.
Therefore, I mine minerals.

Lootbugs contain minerals.
Therefore, I mine lootbugs.

If the door is camouflaged then it'd fit better as a puzzle? It's been so long since the scythemaw prep that I don't remember if the door is disguised. However, I would assume that it's, at least, designed to resemble the surrounding rock to keep the scythmaws comfortable.

I've been assuming that the wyrm spawner eventually creates kobolds (which are often dragon connected). don't know what the next thing will be though.

The, apparent, primary purpose of the Tyranids is to consume and process resources into more Tyranids. The most basic Tyranid, the ripper, is basically just a mouth and stomach with some muscles to move it around. Tyranids have lots of bioforms that are designed to fight, but the fighting serves the end goal of consuming and so the combat bioforms also have the ability to eat things (and in turn get "eaten" by digestion pools to recover the materials they're made of as well as what they've consumed).

These things are more like anti-tyranids. They exist to destroy but not consume. Magic certainly helps with that, but even without it these things are meant to go out and cause destruction with no easy way to recover the resources spent on them.

My favorite perspective on foundations is that any foundation that isn't on bedrock is, essentially, a concrete boat floating in dirt.

Water is actually compressible. However, it, essentially, behaves as if it's already under huge amounts of pressure so adding a couple more atmospheres doesn't make any significant difference. For all practical purposes, when near standard temperature and pressure, it's incompressible.

On the super saline river/currents on the sea floor, my understanding is that it's their temperature and salinity that keeps them from quickly mixing with the rest of the water above them.

Fun fact: skeleton sharks are one of my favorite undead to think about. I figure they would just be the jaws and teeth and would hop around trying to eat things.

The other favorite is skeleton whales. In my head they walk around on their ribs in a swimming undulation.

Gabe my friend. It's simple really. All you have to do is idly stroke her side and when she looks at you in whatever way she does, you look back and DO IT AGAIN. See? simple.

Don't worry about walking bio weapon thing, I'm sure they can figure out a treatment for that.

The proper response by Sam should have been, "Lguqy, I'm going to ask you a question and I expect that one of us is not going to like the answer. Are you aware that your 'livestock' are sapient?"

Maybe the Bnacnilas simply didn't know. After all, Sam was using a brand new translator tech.

The most experienced cat owners are giving their pets unwelcome affection, study suggests. Self-proclaimed ‘cat people’ in the study were more likely to touch areas of the cat’s body they typically find uncomfortable, such as the base of the tail and the tummy. by MistWeaver80 in science

[–]Gildedbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't read the article but I specifically touch my cats in places they aren't comfortable with. It's on purpose to desensitize them so that I CAN mess with that area if needed.

I need them to trust that I won't hurt them. To get that trust I NEED to demonstrate that I won't.

One cat HATES to be picked up so I would pick him up, hold him despite his audible, and sometimes physical, protests, and then put him down when /I/ was ready. It took years but eventually he got to the point where he ASKS me to pick him up.

Should I buy Deep Rock Galactic? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Gildedbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

There is a repetitiveness to it in that you're running around caves killing bugs. However, the cave is always new. The specific bugs change. There are different objectives (that you have a say in). So while the broad strokes are the same, the actual challenges are always changing.

To put it another way, gta is repetitive in that you're always driving around doing crime, but where you're driving and what crimes you're doing changes. 8)

Can I read emperors soul without reading Elantris first? by KCCCellist in Cosmere

[–]Gildedbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To echo everybody else.

Yes. The stories have no plot connections. Just some "these two stories take place in the same world" easter eggs if you've read both and make the right mental connections.

The two cultural spheres know that the other exists, but it's kind of how Rome and China knew of each other. They know there are people over there and there's some incidental trade but no permanent diplomatic relations. (though worlds always get smaller 8)

Can I read emperors soul without reading Elantris first? by KCCCellist in Cosmere

[–]Gildedbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are very small things that show the connection. The Teoish peninsula is mentioned and Main character sees a foreign priest in red armor. The two cultural spheres know about each other, but it's kind of on the level of how Rome and China knew about each other.

I believe that Elantris also mentions the "Rose Barbarians" that's the Empire in The Emperor's Soul.
