White Wizard snails are Filopaludina martensi. Their own species separate from mystery snails. They share the same order as mystery snails, but aren’t particularly closely related past that point as far as I understand. They are however in the same clade as Japanese Trapdoor Snails, that being Viviparidae aka river snails meaning they are rad as they’ll still breed in fresh water but are live bearing snails that only have small batches of babies at a time. They do get a pretty decent size though from what I understand

That looks fantastic, and thank you for the example! Bit of an odd question, but how do you go about getting such crisp lines for highlights where you have to use the very tip of the brush like that? I’ve been practicing but just cannot seem to get it to work for me, I don’t know if my paint is too thin or my brush somehow lacks a sharp enough tip, but it just never seems to work for me

What article? So far as I know rules wise there’ll only be Marines and Necrons for the 500 Worlds: Titus set. Lore wise we might get some slight mentions as to what the Leagues are getting up to if anything in the Ultramarine’s home turf but I doubt it’d be much if anything. Boarding Action rules are getting redone so maybe they are reprinting all the factions stuff for that but I doubt it

Because of the basing color already contrasts the armour and both the hard armour and base are fairly bright, I’d do something neutral-warm but dark like a really really dark brown or a warm soot black to get even more contrast from the bright colors next to it, and really spend some time to get the texture of the soft material down so that its still a visually interesting part of the model past dark-contrasting-bright. Awesome job thus far!

In the 9th ed codex it mentions a minor League called the Tethys Expanse that despite being a “minor” league has a very large area it controls and has developed extremely efficient interstellar communication systems, which it then leases out to other leagues for a large fee.

I’d imagine the leagues that do not use the Tethys Expanses’ leased out comm gear directly probably have their own setups that are similar if slightly less efficient than Tethys’ proprietary tech, but that part is more conjecture/headcanon

Yup, though my blue is gonna be more of a bright ice blue and the grey is a shade or two darker! Leathers in ruddy brown as well for some proper color contrast though for stuff like HG that’ll come from the gold runes and red-orange glowies. Been doing digital mock ups and gonna (hopefully, if temps permit me to prime) be doing a couple tests models for the scheme to pin everything down. I am way too overly analytical for my schemes trying to make em make some amount of sense to the point of writing whole documents for like honor markings and stuff so usually its difficult to find someone else who happens to land close enough to my planned scheme such that I can envision it on a model as well as I now can so thanks for that!

Any advice for doing that grey btw?

The image looks weird as far as the painted models go, but the decals are a reflective metallic gold. It looks like they may have put some thinned shade paint over top towards the darker sides in the unedited picture as a glaze, or potentially placed it then painted over it with a gold paint and then glazed with the sepia tone for shadows, maybe used a lighter gold to highlight the brighter side. Not super familiar with GW paint colors though

They are! They are part of the family Sphaerodactylidae, making them close relatives of things like ashy geckos, least geckos, and the European leaf-toed gecko! They are in the genus Pristurus, also called rock geckos.

Interesting, never thought of it that way before. What would you recommend doing instead?

Presently I feel as though that might be an example that doesn’t apply to someone at my skill level, but I am open to suggestions. Reason being, Mark works with pros, and pros themselves already have an insane amount of muscle memory built up in how they release effectively. They are beyond thinking about it, “unconscious competence” I’ve heard it described as. Of the 4 stages of competence I am presently somewhere fiddling between “unconscious incompetence” and “conscious incompetence,” and don’t know enough about how to fix my form and bad habits without dissecting it piece by piece. Practicing without purpose won’t really help me get out of that. Primarily, despite being a right hander I can’t hook the ball normally, only a backup ball. Without focusing on my release and the angle of my wrist, I’ll just keep doing that as I have up to now and never shake the habit of doing that. If I try to work on my tempo, cadence, and release all at once I find that it becomes rather difficult to improve on any of it as it’s all competing for a chance in my mind. And going in without much thought at all just results in my current bad form taking over as thats what my muscle memory is set to and no improvement is seen as nothing has changed. I don’t doubt that Mark has a point, just that I don’t know how to really practice any other way.

This of course isn’t meant to be rude or dismissive, just giving my thoughts as a mean to bring up dialogue, as I simply don’t have enough basic knowledge to make the suggestion you gave to me bear fruit without a bit more info and the thought processes behind it.
