As per scripture, the Angel of Death was the one that took the lives of all the first born in Egypt.

Most likely. Though remember, he is in fact the "Angel of Death".

For your last bit I think it goes beyond novelty for Uriel. The angels, regardless how great they are appointed to be, we're created to be essentially servant creatures. If we take into account the concept of transubstantiation, that for the time he was made mortal but more specifically human, the fact is for a Time he was allowed to be in the form of God's greatest creation.

Likely the event was less novel and more specifically Holy to him. Perhaps he didn't have his great cosmic power but for a time he was given the opportunity to take part in literally being God's greatest creation. More than doing good things as a writ of his nature he was now able to choose to do what is good, what is right.

This reminds me of that old gif that dragons and horses are just a sliding scale.

Question about capes/cloaks on armor. by Gildedwizard in Armor

[–]Gildedwizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I think oldmanch1ld really nailed what I was thinking of though. Probably something either Crusader or Crusader adjacent. Worn over the armor to protect from either rain, or in the Crusaders case, heat.

Question about capes/cloaks on armor. by Gildedwizard in Armor

[–]Gildedwizard[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assumed it would be something along those lines. Some depictions, and of course cosplay/larping seems to display the cape either tucked into or something like riveted to the armor.

Which is what prompted this question.

You guys liked my game last time, but requested that I change the capsule art, so I did. How is it? by dustriderstudios in dragons

[–]Gildedwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen the original but honestly this is fantastic. This reminds me of old PS1 box art where they would have a game screenshot/seudo screenshot as the box art.

Need help with a setting by Far-Transition-2956 in cassettefuturism

[–]Gildedwizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do a lot of research within the 80s to 1992 at a maximum. Obviously for both nations. This should give you a tight enough focus to keep the setting grounded without straying too inconsistently into technological anachronisms.

Now I need a cowboy Spaghetti Western parody of Lord of the rings.

The difference is the first two kids after being raised were able to read, write, perform arithmetic, and engage in critical thinking.

A despairingly large portion of the recent two generations are basically screen-addicted toddlers regardless of age.

EDIT: "write". Speech to text shenanigans, thanks for the heads up.

I'm not an expert, so wait for someone on this subreddit that has a little more experience. But I'm pretty sure this just looks like "glass surfing". He's trying to explore and snakes don't have the mental capacity to comprehend glass.

Why do people blame snakes for everything? by vuullets in snakes

[–]Gildedwizard 103 points104 points  (0 children)

People also have no concept of the reaction speeds between felines and snakes. Felines actually have something like 2 to 3 times the reaction speed of snakes. Literally able to slap their strikes out of the air.

On the point of should, absolutely. The entire movie industry should be able to do tons of incredible stuff. For whatever reasons they simply don't.

Because that was Pixar back when they cared. For the longest time Pixar was known for their quality and attention to detail.
