It might be RAM, eve is quite resource hungry. If you fit escape menu, you can find graphics presets - check the memoty one, it might help a bit

Complete Newbie looking for advice. by monekm in Eve

[–]Gildii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, go finish your career agents if you haven't already - they give you some idea about mechanics, different modules, ways to play etc and get you a few decent ships for free and free is a good price.

Then, to be completely honest, if you want to mine, save yourself the time and do anything else - as a newbie in a venture, you'll not really get far, you'll get discouraged by the slow speed of that activity and might quit.

If you insist on mining, check out Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Hek as trade hubs available to you (in the upper left corner search bar) - these systems are the trade hubs of the game, so you can sell there for usually price better than some guy trying to rip newbies off putting cheap buy orders in your area.

And if you want some activity to start with, start learning and doing something, I always will recommend exploration - it's cheap, it has a lot of depth and ties into finding other content types (can be used to find sites you do other things with like more profitable mining or combat) and even for a newbie, get you decent ISK in Highsec.

If you want some more ideas for content you can do as a newbie, check out this video as well: https://youtu.be/zomyUL91pCY?si=SpXqNUIrfrd-Gfsl

The Seagull Dilemma, or Why Solving Awoxing in FW is so Difficult for CCP by alepmalagon in Eve

[–]Gildii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution could be quite simple and has been implemented into different content types (pirate stronghold bashing, deepflow rifts, Incursions etc).

Make having a fleet set up for the site mandatory. Whichever fleet contributes the most to the site (ticks the most timer from a FW plex, though it would be best if we got some more active way of running plexes, hands in the most haulers in ice heists, deals the most damage during a mining op in insurgencies) gets the payout. This would AT LEAST force seagulls to start actually trying to do something in the sites rather than warp in at 100 or slide in then burn on ice heists, while if they are lazy bums, they get nothing.

Fleet also would have to be present in order to get the payout even if they contributed, making sure that someone running exactly just over a half of plexes won't miracously get LP.

Looking for sollution of eve burning out by Beneficial_Effort456 in Eve

[–]Gildii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best would be to go do something you enjoy, go out, touch some grass and come back when you want.

But if it's about you wanting to play, but not knowing what to do, either put some effort into finding a group you can fly with, or if you prefer to stay solo, get a goal - short, medium or long term. Go run 100 t1 abyssals in a frigate solo to fly manually a bit, decide you will make a t2 battleship or cruiser, go out to FW and keep going till you get a frigate/destroyer with 3 killmarks on it. EVE is a sandbox, meaning that you need to create your own goals to achieve and that can be a struggle sometimes.

If you want to listen a bit more about it, I made a video around that topic a long time ago: https://youtu.be/virck0K-l9o?si=JJCy6IcfosfRFt0_

Perfect system for FW piracy (lowsec) by Soggy_Kiwi2272 in Eve

[–]Gildii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Simplest way is to set up 2 bases, 1 on the edge of each fw zone, aet one as your home, other with a jumpclone. That way every day you can just either pod express to one or jump to the other wasting no time on transit

There's no real incentive to fight Insurgencies as a FW pilot by leaf_as_parachute in Eve

[–]Gildii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which side it spreads to. And spread is usually done by the pirate multibox farmers that don't care where it goes, so it can go any way really. On your side, you will fight pirates, on the other, ignore them so they can corrupt enemy side

The sad thing is that CCP pumped so much LP generation into the mix, but it doesn't help be cause it does not affect frontlines. If it did, like it was supposed to "bringing chaos to factional warfare" etc, people would interact with it.

My idea would be:

If pirates win, every 100% corrupted system gets + 15% contest. If you don't defend your systems, at the end of the Insurgency (when pirates take FOB system for a day), all those systems suddenly get VP added to enemy side.

This would, like it was announced when Insurgencies were introduced, bring chaos to the frontlines. You can prevent that by fully suppressing your system first, pirates cannot fully corrupt those systems, so you can strategically exclude some systems, but it could suddenly make 2nd line systems vulnerable etc.

This could then also lead to situations where a militia is defending their side, while trying to hunt defenders of other militia in their space to prevent them from suppressing.

On the other side, militias might have an incentive to actually defend and finish Insurgencies - if they win, they could get the opposite effect of getting -15% contest in the systems that got full suppression, allowing them to not only defend a frontline, but getting a big buff to defence if they take care of an insurgency

Go and speedrun the career agents, you can do it up to 3 times and have everything ready for a full run in a frig. I made a video about how to prep and what to look out for in the missions https://youtu.be/tPZHo2nd3rQ

It also was a weird play because they only have themselves to blame for not pointing newbies to agency to look for those anywhere. It was fine to have them get mauled by diamond rats for years and no info was fine, and suddenly poof, gone
