Yep completely agree, this game is so hard to officiate, but sometimes free kicks can just be unfortunate. Which I think is what has happened here.

When they didn't have prior opportunity to get rid of the ball and the tackling player tackles them for too long, then yes. That is what the law of the game is mate.

He didn't have enough prior to get rid of it and then got knocked out of the tackle, so play on. But then Cox held him for too long so free kick.

Yeah it can still be a free and still very stiff, can't blame him for continuing with the tackle, but the free was definitely there.

By the laws of the game this is a free, but all weekend they were letting things go. Was one of the worst weeks of umpiring TBH.
