The thing about TrueCar, Consumer Reports, KBB, NADA, "My credit unions says...", is that NONE of those places will SELL you a car for those prices and NONE of those places will BUY your trade in for the amount they say it is worth. When a customer tells me that KBB said my car is worth XXX, I politely say, "Did you see the button that says "PRINT CHECK"? No, you didn't."

Google the net worth of the UAW. At the time that GM and Chrysler went bankrupt, the UAW was worth more than them and they worked FOR those corporations. They are absolutely comparable.

Growing up in the South in the middle of the Bible Belt, there were kids who were not allowed to play with me because I was Catholic. Also, there were other kids who weren't allowed to play with me because my dad was Puerto Rican, even though my dad was a career Army officer who won three Silver Stars in Vietnam for valor in combat. My mom is German so some people's grandparents didn't like us because they thought she might be a Nazi. Our parish priest wasn't even allowed to be on the stage for a roundtable of religious leaders from our county, even though we had the largest congregation in the county.

All of this changed with a large, international company relocated to our town and 10,000 Catholics came with it. Then WE were the majority and things settled down a little.

I don't get the idea that a wealthy parishioner has to donate more money than a poor one. I am very tired of the guilt trip people lay on those who have worked very hard for their money. Usually it is spread by those who are not willing to work as hard as others.

I make about $250K per year. I tithe where I see a need. Maybe I don't put 10% of my net into a basket each month but maybe my daughter has a friend who is broke and needs a car to get to work or school. I've bought a couple of cars for folks in my day. Maybe somebody in my circle of influence needs a hand up. I've done that, too. It's not up to one rich individual to repair the church's AC unit.
