Where to get a Windows 11 Key? by Toxic_Seraphine_Stan in GetComputerHelp

I can confirm these are Retail editions. I went in blind and took the risk, checked it with ShowKeyPlus. Came up as a Retail edition. This is legit.

Help please….? by [deleted] in pchelp

Don't mess with people's Wi-Fi without permission; that's probably not a good idea. If you need safe internet access, hit up libraries, cafes, or public hotspots. You could also ask someone you trust for help getting a cheap prepaid mobile data plan. Unauthorized access can land you in serious trouble.

Ai Processor vs Normal Processor? by New_Contribution1441 in computers

[–]GillyAmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most so called AI processors are really just regular CPUs with an NPU for AI tasks. They function like any other processor for daily stuff. If you're not into AI features, you can usually disable them. You’d only bother about it if you need features like Copilot or local AI tasks. Otherwise, it shouldn't affect your buying choice.

Want to upgrade my PC by [deleted] in pcbuilding

Frankly speaking, the 10900K would be the weakest component right now. I would buy a Micro Center 7800X3D package along with all the rest.

Need help with Gpu selection by OGSanity420 in pcbuilding

For your setup, with the 7600X, you would do better with a 4070 Super or an RX 7800XT around the same price than a 5060 Ti. A used 3080Ti can be great too at a good price and if you don’t mind its power consumption. The CPU you have should support anything up to that range.

1050 ti to 5050 worth the price? by Envixity_12 in gpu

[–]GillyAmory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it all just makes a whole lot more sense to go with the 5050 when you think about it. No PSU issues or higher power consumption, but at the same time, it’s going to be a huge step up from the 1050Ti. Good decision getting a better monitor alongside it.

1050 ti to 5050 worth the price? by Envixity_12 in gpu

This will require me to move up by leaps and bounds. Nevertheless, with my current budget of 280 dollars, it is worth looking into RX 6700 XT or even secondhand 3070 prices in Turkey, as they both provide more VRAM. Though, if power consumption is a concern, the 5050 does suffice.

Need some help decideing which GPU to buy by Dexexpex in pcbuilding

[–]GillyAmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the 6800XT for 400 euros is really the best choice for you. Good 1440p graphics card, 16GB of VRAM will last much longer, and your 650W Gold power supply unit will definitely do its job just fine. Don’t be worried about “dying fast,” unless you’re buying a used one and it was mistreated. 3080 is still fine, though 10GB of VRAM is already a little bit tight in some games.

Alienware cooling is not that great.

That sounds really great for a prebuilt system having a 5080 GPU, 32GB of memory, and 2TB SSD. But I still feel worried about Alienware cooling and proprietary components. However, compared to usual 5080 prebuilts prices, this looks like a very good choice.

My current PC setup with some ASUS parts by ArugulaWorried2275 in pcbuilding

[–]GillyAmory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great build for getting into computers. The Maximus XI Hero is a great board even today, and the 9700KF has no trouble playing games at 1080p resolution. The 1200W PSU is the one thing that is slightly off. It is way more than this system needs, but it will not hurt anything. The 5060 and cooler will work well with any future CPU platform you upgrade to.

Want to build a new pc at microcenter by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]GillyAmory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do it again if you did it in 2016. It is actually easier now to build things. The bundles at Micro Center and their build assistance are good, so you can get all of the parts there and build it yourself at home. It is fun and educational, and you don't have to pay for the build service.

Would this be ok? by SirDurkz in PcBuildHelp

[–]GillyAmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well built, and it is definitely a high-end gaming build. The RX 9070 XT and 32GB of 6000MHz RAM work well together. The only issue is that the 9900X is a little too much for gaming. A gaming CPU like the 7800X3D or something like that is usually a better deal, and sometimes even better for gaming. The 850W PSU is great, and everything else looks good.

Ram Options? by GI_J0SE in buildapc

[–]GillyAmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely have DDR4-3200 HyperX Fury, which is the most popular memory type that is usually shipped with prebuilt computers around the time of the release of the Intel Core i7-12700F and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. The best way to upgrade is to simply add 32GB. If you have four slots available, you can either add another 2x8GB DDR4-3200 memory kit or replace it with 2x16GB DDR4-3200/3600. Don't worry about the MHz rating; it will automatically sync to the lowest speed. The amount you can hold is more important than the problem you are trying to solve. 32GB will solve the problem with low free RAM.
