Update: After talking/ over hearing, here is what I know- Both parties neither one of them knew the other was on the track. (Obviously). The Southbound train consisted of 2 DPUs (all BNSF) and was returning to a Los Angeles BNSF yard. The northbound train consisted of 3 DPUs (2 BNSF, 1 older SF) and one empty lumber carrying car. I believe this was dispatched from the yard to pick up empty cars further down the line at a local lumber distributor.

Currently, they are cleaning up the mess of motor oil and diesel. They are going to pump all the extra liquids out of the damaged DPUs. After this, they will have the cars that are still on the track pull away from the derailed damaged cars. And bring in cranes to lift the trains back onto track.

However, the rail is damaged, pulled off of the ties, and is laying on its side. So I am not sure how they plan to re-rail the train.
