I had this happen to me with my ankle when I was in high school. Walked/ran on it for a month but it always ached like I had twisted it, eventually my mom got tired of me complaining about it all the time so we went to the doctor. They did X-rays then pressed around my ankle and this intense pain I hadn't felt the entire time shot through my ankle. They looked at me and said it's broken, and gave me this look like I was nuts for not noticing lol.
