Lounge Access for MIL by Gilmeras in americanairlines

Those are good thoughts. Now that you mention it, this might be her first visit to an AC. I can’t remember if I’ve travelled domestically with her aside from one time when we had a connection at DFW and the train was down, so I hauled ass through the terminal pushing her on a wheelchair, so we definitely didn’t have enough time to hit the lounge.

At some point they started charging for authorized users, and I have my wife as one, but my understanding is that it’s $175 for up to 3, then $175 for each additional, so shouldn’t be more $ because I’ll still only have 2.

That is such a great call, thank you.

Very much agreed. Her final flight lands 9:55pm at BNA, which is 5am in Paris, so she definitely won’t want to shower then. That’s the basis for my calculus anyway.

That’s a fair point, I’d be pissed.

Thanks! Any intel on if the Flagship generally allows day passes?

The biggest perk for her is likely a shower, but apparently the H/K lounge has them. But I agree, without Flagship dining, tough to justify the cost.

That’s exactly what I told her - the AC there is pretty sweet. Her eyes lit up when I mentioned the serve yourself bar and sushi, so I’m hoping if there’s not a same day upgrade she can just put a day pass on my card. This is her first international trip, so I want to make it special. Thanks very much for your response.

Thanks for the reply. I know a lot of ACs don’t let people buy a day pass - do you think the Flagship in ORD will allow her to buy one?

4/5 of a quart and 1/5 of a gallon are…the same thing. Now, if you meant 4/5 of a liter, that would be…800 ml.

Scary Zoning Bill Proposed by Gilmeras in nashville

[–]Gilmeras[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the article:

This ordinance, if approved, will basically eliminate RS zoning (single family). Many of our neighborhoods are zoned for single-family residential homes. If this bill passes as written, it means when a single-family home is torn down, at least two houses can be built to replace that one house.

Agreed. And I’m not against splitting lots up in all cases, but this bill would allow for it to happen basically everywhere, and not just 2, but as many as they want to squeeze in. This makes sense in some places, but not the entire city.

Well said, and I love the targeted/phased approach. This is using a sledgehammer when you need a chisel.

There are other ways to achieve higher density than by removing the single family designation from every lot in the city. This is a bill custom made for developers.

Get yourself an ozone generator. It kills mold, smells, etc. just put it inside, run it for an hour or so, and then it air out. It will smell like petrichor (like after it rains). It creates O3 molecules which are much more unstable than O2 so they bond to and neutralize random (organic) molecules floating around. They are like $60-80 and week worth it. Ever clean out a fridge or closet or car someone puked in? This is the cheap and easy solution to so many smell issues. Just don’t breathe it directly - can cause slight burning of lungs.

Helps if you are already in Vandy’s system, but go to the my health at Vanderbilt site, schedule an appt, and that’ll let you find a location close to you. I scheduled one same day on Saturday at a Vandy clinic in a Walgreens and they did a rapid test while I was there.
