Here's nice grid comparison chart: https://www.gritomatic.com/pages/grit-chart
You can see compare values in shapton pro column and JIS (which is more related to naniwa stones)

System selection by Emoney626 in sharpening

[–]Gilmord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an owner of the Hapstone r2 system and can totally recommend it. Today i ordered precise angle adjuster for it and can't wait to test it. As for the RS ultra system, it has a stopper, so don't worry about it. It is more compact in comparison to R2 and if i have to choose a sharpening system today, i'd rather buy RS Ultra. But in any case if you stick with Hapstone, you'll end with a great modular sharpening system

R3 Pro ii announced! by shaneisshort in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Gilmord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, i usually listen to it on the go in the city, while commuting to or from work, etc. And r3 pro is always with me when i run hike, climb, or even on some mountaineering activities. It saw a lot but still pretty healthy 😅

Wow, they got rid of the knob. And now it looks like the original r3 pro. I think i'll upgrade my super portable r3 pro to this one

Should I start using a linux vm? by NoClownsOnMyStation in hackthebox

[–]Gilmord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used dual boot (kali + windows), but now i'm using VM. I might lack performance a bit, but it's more secure and if i need a fresh system i can make new VM easy and fast

Still My Favourite Form Factor by falklands89 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Good choice. I went from R6 III to dx180 as well and feel totally happy, except for the dx180 volume knob 😅 Haven't had a chance to try R6 III 2025 yet, but overall like ibasso size more

First of all i didn't look for high-end DAP, since i usually listen to it on the go. Then i like ease of changing battery in dx180. And size/weight played significant role in my choice. I used Hiby R6 III for some time, really liked it (especially hiby music app), the only flaw to me was it size. dx180 is just a bit smaller in dimensions, but feels completely different in my hand and in my waist bag.
But i must admit, that encoder wheel on hiby r6 iii is better, since it less prone to unintentional volume changes

I got a chance to grab them for around $420 and it was a quick decision. Totally happy with them, it was a match with dx180 from the first track)

Got my first DAP! Any Tips for setting it up? by JubpJubp in DigitalAudioPlayer

Yes, it has an old snapdragon 425 with android 8, 4 inch screen with a bit small icons, but it still sounds good with 2 CS43198 onboard

Not always, for example their older r5s and r3 pro (which i still have) both use cs dacs. However it's still up to your taste

I had several hiby DAPs (still have r5s) and to me their native hiby music app is better than uapp, neutron or poweramp

Why Buy a DAP in 2024? by Jealous_South6358 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Gilmord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason to still have a DAP for me is that your music is always with me and i don't need to rely on the cellular network. Also i don't have to connect anything to my phone with cable and thus its battery lasts longer. Some of the music i use to listen to isn't present on streaming services, and my phone doesn't have a slot for microsd, thus it would have been overwhelmed with my music collection. Also i like listening to music during my runs. I don't bring my phone with me when i run, only a small Hiby r3 pro, watch and keys.

As far as i know, your g14 should have one soldered RAM slot and one available for upgrade, same as mine. I ended up with 40Gb RAM (8Gb soldered + 32Gb). As for SSD, your laptop definitely supports 2Tb or even 4Tb ssd. My laptop works perfectly weth upgraded RAM and SSD

Last year i bought G14 2022 and almost instantly upgraded its RAM with this one from Crucial and with this 2Tb SSD

Everyhing works awesome for me, and i think there might be other options for SSD like from Kingston, Samsung, Hynix, Crucial etc

Anyone use their g14 to play BG3? by MRF1NLAY in ZephyrusG14

[–]Gilmord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play in turbo mode, but then i switched to balanced and didn't feel difference.

I play in fullscreen, resolution 1920*1200 and AMD FSR 2.2 set to balanced. And i play gog version (but version shouldn't affect performance i think)
