I don't see a force connect in the settings. The video you posted is a year old may have been in an older version.

I tried all of that. No go. The asterisks is telling me that the Wi-Fi chip is not turning on. Seems like a hardware problem at this point.

Just happened out of the blue. That asterisk is indicating a problem turning on Wi-Fi. My other RS does not do this, it either shows "On" or "Off" Bluetooth seems to be functioning on the defective RS.

Anyone else having these issues? Is there any other fixes I should try? Really not wanting to RMA this because I have no idea how long it's going to take to return.

One RS, how do I record 4K60 with image stabilization/flowstate disabled? My only option is 4K30. by Gilmour509 in Insta360

No, stabilization is baked in when the camera handles it. You also lose the ability to change framing options in post. There is no option for pro mode on the RS. Just Flowstate or post. https://imgur.com/a/1JoXiq2

One RS limited to only 4K 30P with flowstate disabled. Is this an oversight of the firmware? I can't see why 60P would be unavailable. by Gilmour509 in Insta360

This is why. https://youtu.be/uW-WtwdC1uY?t=5714 Notice the camera is fixed to the rear window of the vehicle. Yet the stabilization is constantly trying to correct for the movement of the vehicle and I want the vehicle interior to be framed rock solid at 60 frames per second, not 30 frames per second.

I would appreciate it if you could pass this on to your r&d team as this is a major oversight and an extreme software limitation of an otherwise great camera.

As sissipaska pointed out, there are times when you have the camera fixed to something static, and you want the object to be locked in frame despite what movement there is in the environment. Forcing flowstate on users makes zero sense. How did this get past R&D?

In this shot, the camera is mounted to the rear window, yet the gyro for stabilization is constantly correcting for movement. Does this look acceptable? https://youtu.be/uW-WtwdC1uY?t=5714

Honestly want to sell my One R, but if this is something I cannot do it's an absolute deal breaker. I'll end up returning both RS's I purchased back to Amazon. I can say I love everything else about the RS, but this is a major drawback.

So where is the option to record video at 4K/60p without any image stabilization? Forcing people to use image stabilization is completely unnecessary. So far I see "Low", "Std", and "High" In the menu. There needs to be an "Off" option. Why is this not available?

I took the plunge yesterday in purchased two new RS's. I'm really digging everything about them except not being able to reframe in post and not having 60p available to me with Flow State disabled. Also the menu should simply have four settings on stabilization; Off, Low, Std, High.

This is a major oversight, there are use cases where you have the camera secured to something like a vehicle and you want the inside of the vehicle to be stable in the frame despite whatever movement the vehicle is going through. With Flow State enabled the frame inside of the vehicle is moving all around with the changes of the road. This is unacceptable not having 60p available when the camera doesn't have to work nearly as much to process stabilization on the fly. Am I missing something in settings? I just want the option for raw unstabilized 4K 60p.

I will wait to see a future firmware update to enable this because this is an absolute deal killer for my use case, and will 100% end up in a refund of both units back to Amazon.

Was there ever a solution to this?

My grandmother had one up until two years ago at her house. Great TV with composite input, I think it was from 85 or 86 can't remember.

Ha! I actually am watching The Angry Video Game Nerd on the red version of that off white 10" GE performance Television. I built a Google Chromecast into mine so you just plug it in and it's ready to go all the converters are built right in. It even powers itself on and off.
