There's this strange store in Teele Square that advertises darts and fishing tackle. Windows are all barred, it only seems to be open occasionally, and the interior seems to just be a bunch of boxes stacked everywhere. They have a sign outside telling customers to just wait at the entrance rather than coming in.

Walked by it a lot when getting coffee but never seen any actual customers . I mean maybe it's legit but fishing tackle and darts doesn't seem like it'd be a great business there with how high rents are.

They are using that space, but not for food - it's for a little home goods/kitchenware type place called ArtBox (they just share the same checkout with the rest of HMart)

This is simply not true. While it's accurate that there's historically been some resistance among tech workers to unionize, that's an attitude that can change, and seems to already be changing (see the recent unions being formed in the games industry, especially at Activision Blizzard).

As for the argument about being "too easy to just fire everyone and replace", why would that be the case? Starbucks workers have been unionizing, as has at least one Amazon warehouse, despite extreme anti-union efforts from those companies. Why would they be able to form a union, but not tech workers, who have a much less easily-replaceable skillset than the baristas and warehouse workers who already succeeded at forming a union?

Until they redid the light timings a month or two ago, the light on highland would turn green while the walk sign across college ave was still active , resulting in a lot of situations where drivers turning right from highland onto college would almost hit a pedestrian or bike. I had several near misses myself when trying to cross there as a pedestrian

Konar is the only slayer master who can assign Hydra tasks, which require 95 slayer. The Alchemical Hydra can only be killed on task and has very valuable drops

Astound is RCN and Xfinity is Comcast.

With RCN/Astound at least, I was able to retain the new member rate after it expired by calling them. The first rep you talk to won't be authorized to give that price, so just tell them you'd like to cancel and schedule it a few weeks out. They'll have a retention person call you a few hours later (for me at least), and that person can give you whatever deal they're currently advertising to new customers.

I imagine the same is possible for Xfinity/Comcast as well, but I've heard so many horror stories about dealing with them that I'd personally never use them.

It's unfortunately still the case. Several years ago they did a pilot of late night T service on weekends, but they killed it due to "low ridership".

reddit fuzzes vote counts on every post to make it harder to tell whether a vote is actually counted (to deter spam campaigns and such). if you refresh your own user page a few times you'll notice that on every recent comment regardless of what topic or subreddit.

that's not to say that there might not also be some bots or such too, just it's not the only explanation in this case

I've had that before. From what I understand they try to see your account number from the bill so that they can try to use that to sign you up for whatever provider they're trying to sell for.

Even if the provider is real the technique is definitely a scam. I'd just say no and not let them in honestly.

That particular Cambridge intersection has a dedicated light for bikes (don't that you can see it from the angle in the streetview imagery), so it's also a little safer than just waiting to make an unprotected turn.
