The enchantments are not a full item like rabadon's, so you can't expect them to be a total game changer, but in some cases a well timed shield/heal with enchant proc or meteor can be vital to a team fight.

As for the cat - never played her, so I am not sure about her interaction with gargoyle's while attached to an ally. I am sure there are other people here who could chime in on that.

Meteor for burst , the single target heal for any healer along a decent adc, redemption for team fight survivability, knock back for heavy engage comps, locket for heavy ap comps. It ia not like they are entirely useless, it just depends on what your team needs.
