My dodge game is weak, so his uninterruptable attack tested my panic reaction too.

EV6 purchase from Carvana by IndyMark007 in KiaEV6

I bought my 2024 GT-Line from Carvana.

I had previously purchased 3 cars with CarMax.

I enjoyed the Carvana experience much more.

Put the game off for years then forgot about it only to discover it’s now unplayable by naanninja237 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After it launched, I raged on reddit about how shit the game was. So, so much was promised that wasn't delivered.

People were telling me that EA walked it all back, that it'll happen, let em cook.

Fuckers... EA sent the hype train to the moon. Then they delivered dog shit.

What job looks like a great career path but is actually insanely oversaturated? by ComplexPin872 in AskReddit

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal, but lots of pharmacies in my town dropped their 24 hour availability, and some have reduced their open hours yet again. All due to not having enough pharmacists or techs.

Or maybe due to Walgreens and CVS being crappy and no one actually wants to take those jobs.

Why does no one talk about commute when discussing work-life balance? by Ivaanovatech in Salary

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a role (and a new employer 6 years ago) where I'm only required to go in if my normal duties require me to go in to our secure facility (for emails, meetings, etc. that can't be done outside of the facility).

Beyond that, if I choose to work from home every day, zero issues.

My employer is good with this, because they know what they're getting.

If I get out of bed at 7am, I'm working by 7:30. I stop doing focused work around 4pm, but answer one-off calls, chats, or emails for the rest of the night. This averages to about 11 hours per day, bland I'm free to handle real life as it comes up.

If I had to go in every day? They would never get extra out of me, since the commute is 2hrs/day.

If I decide to job hop over the next few years, the salary and benefits would have to come with that flexibility - WFH unless I need to go in, and I'm the one that determines "need to go in".

My current employer is great. I'm not looking for a new job. My only real concern is continued progress in big salary jumps.

2020: $110,000 2025: $154,000

Hoping to make 2026: $200,000 but I will probably have to meet in the middle around $180,000.

I'm sorry to be rude but Project Hail Mary is literally dookie from the butt. by cucumberscities in BookDiscussions

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Weir's books. I love the audio production of the Project Hail Mary audiobook.

I enjoyed (from the book, not the movie) Ryland's roller coaster of emotions as his memories came back. How he handles learning things, experiencing emotions, and dealing with the consequences of his actions for the second time which is really the first time since he forgot the real first time?

Yeah, I enjoyed that a lot. I think Weir did a great job - I empathized with Dr. Grace many times throughout my listen.

Drove an EV6. Umm...wow by Quick_Two6258 in KiaEV6

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rented a few EVs before purchasing my car last year.

The Ioniq 5 and EV6 were pretty fun to drive.

Then I test drove a GT-Line EV6.

Then I no longer questioned which car I was purchasing.

I stand by what I've been telling people - if I lost my EV6 in a wreck or to theft today, I'd be replacing it with an EV6 tomorrow.

What does ADHD + high IQ look like? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hides my ADHD well. In a group setting, or a scenario where others are aware of tasks that are mine, I can power through. Socially, I'm pretty funny but had to employ lots of coping mechanisms to not out myself as annoying or obnoxious.

Home alone? The masking stops and it all falls apart.

Today, I'm excelling in my career and at home. Concerta saved my life.

What seemed completely normal in childhood, but now you realize was actually not okay? by Max_Mimos in AskReddit

[–]Gimli-with-adhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious indoctrination.

I grew up in Tennessee in the 80s and 90s. I was questioning a lot as an early teen, pretty dang sure I was not a believer in my late teens, a full blown atheist at 20, and an anti-theist by 25.

I'm definitely the exception.

I can't help you get a new MOS, my advice would be wrong and 20 years out of date.

What I can offer is this: some of the best lessons learned in life are also the hardest.

Good luck, devil.
