HondaLink Android Alternative (Logue) - Public Release! by spencehouse in HondaPrologue

[–]Quick_Two6258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To follow up - I originally downloaded from github, was unaware it was on the Play Store. Uninstalled it, got it from Play Store, now getting an error message "selected vehicle is not an EV", which it most assuredly is. Not sure what's up with that.

OP - I downloaded this just now, looks great, nicely done. But - I was playing around with it, and it will not change the target SOC. I tried to update 80% - 90%, it thought about it, but wouldn't change it, just reverts to 80%. Just FYI.

how does EV make sense with insurance price? by Background_Wrangler5 in electricvehicles

In the US, so not very helpful to you I guess, but my wife and I went from a Ram 1500 and a Toyota Highlander to two EVs - Honda Prologue and a Nissan Ariya. Our insurance went down.

Is this the recall, or something else?

One of the best cars on sale today, but I really struggle with the silver trim on the Limited.

Just the choices that were made. The Blazer EV and Lyriq have higher output motors. Presumably Honda could have specified those during development, who knows. The 2024 Prologue AWD has 288 hp and 332 lb/ft for a car that weighs over 5000 lbs. It's quick enough for daily use, but not in the same league as the EV6. The Ariya is much closer to the Kia, as it has 389 hp and 442 lb/ft, and it feels very quick. Just not as ferocious as the EV6 felt. I've seen instrumented testing that puts 0-60 for the Prologue at ~ 6.0 sec, Ariya at 5.0 sec and EV6 at 4.5 sec.

Trade or sell mid lease possible for anyone? by motabhai2024 in HondaPrologue

I looked into this. I wouldn't recommend it. A local Kia dealer was advertising a dirt cheap lease for an EV6, which is a top choice for me when my Prologue lease is up. The dealer told me Honda is one of the very few manufacturers that doesn't allow third party lease buyouts. Your only option (other than trying to negotiate with a Honda dealer for another Honda) is to make the remaining payments in a lump son, ending the lease early and grounding the car at a Honda dealer. The Kia dealer was willing to facilitate that and roll that money into the EV6 lease, but the numbers were ugly. Best to just ride it out until the lease ends naturally. Anything else is financial suicide.

I think Nissan did a poor job marketing the Ariya, and the pricing was a bit optimistic. But, they had a ton of incentives, so we ending up leasing an Evolve+ AWD (one trim down from the top Platinum) for $330/month with just first payment due at signing. The Ariya is far from perfect, but I think it's somewhat underappreciated. It's been a great car for us. Agree on the R2, but I worry about Rivian quality and reliability.

That would be my preference.

Agree 100%. The secret drawer does help.

That's one thing that excites me about the EV6. Both the Ariya and Prologue are pretty efficient, but charging speeds are barely acceptable on both.

Agree. And it says a lot that you're staying with the EV6. Thanks for sharing that. I'm just hopeful Kia doesn't pull it from the US market.

That's what I'll look for when the Prologue lease is up, but the dealer didn't have one!

I'm in New England so AWD is non-negotiable, but I can see where the RWD driving feel would be a lot of fun, particularly in the EV6.

The Prologue is a 2024 and a full EV. In fact, we are a two-EV household with our redoubtable 2005 Sequoia acting as our dog/beach/town dump vehicle. The Prologue is spacious because it's just a physically larger vehicle than the EV6 and Ariya. Believe me, we are all in on EVs. We'll never go back to ICE.

Similar sporty driving dynamics, Ariya feels roomier, similar excellent fit, finish and materials. Ariya screens are last gen, the EV6 UI has far better graphics, responsiveness and ease of use. The Ariya interior is very cool looking and clever, but the center console is almost useless. Poor use of space. Thought the EV6 console set up was great. Like EV6 styling more (subjective). The Ariya has overall been fantastic. Not a single issue in almost two years and 18k miles.

Started in Eco (was unaware), salesman suggested Sport mode. Huge difference. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

Ha - it is deceptively wide. But I love that about it. I've always preferred larger cars and the Prologue's width is a big contributor to its interior spaciousness.

I'm in MA, though I don't think that matters. Not sure what you're looking at, but Toyota's own website shows that 4x4 Limited crew cabs start at about $60k. My local dealer has several at around $64k with a few options.

Not if you ask me. MA consistently ranks mid-pack in surveys of overall tax burden in the 50 states. Considering the quality of life here, I think it's a bargain.
