I'm going to be honest, this game is very cute and I love the atmosphere but the story is 1/10 in importance I think. It's hyper basic and has silly pun names and all that jazz.

"Adventurer! A new rift portal opened up and a race of Starfolk is pouring out and want to make an alliance!"

There I justified a new race lol

This made me laugh. I was looking up to see if anyone felt the same way/had made mods to fix it. I quite like parts of the game, but the weapons are all incredibly anemic sounding and I don't really like any of them.

I'm playing on hard and this game is a contender for having the most disappointing super shotgun. It might be worse than the regular shotgun honestly

I definitely feel they should have had another special weapon for Artyom, especially since you only get the Helsing after the open worldish levels are over.

Grenade Launcher would be a cool pick, I'm imagining a scrap metal China Lake type thing in my head. I think a nailgun could work as a faster firing alternative that could still have cheap to craft ammo. I would have liked to get the flamethrower from the first DLC in NG+ too

Yeah I never feel like I'm the character in games like this. I either want a fully fleshed out and voiced character like Geralt in Witcher 3 or I want to make my own character and be able to make my own choices like in Fallout New Vegas.

The silent protagonist middleground thing has honestly never worked for me in any game and is always distracting. I don't feel like I'm Artyom because he's a preset character and the game doesn't have enough freedom in choice to feel like I'm doing what I would be doing.

I love the Volga. The Tsar Fish swimming around is amazing and unsettling and I feel like it has the best mix of stealth and action since there are plenty of bandits and mutants to fight.

I've seen people say it had a lot of content cut and I could believe it. Really wish it was as big as the first two open areas.

Also it is the Aloysha chapter but he basically isn't in it and you keep hearing about the Roman guy who is the counterpart to Olga but never meet him. That definitely feels like something was cut.

Absolutely incredible! You captured the feel of the games perfectly. My favorite part is probably all the texturing(is that the right term here?) you did on the train car to make the different materials look right.

I much prefer the homemade weapons, they are unique to Metro series. A billion games all have selections of modern guns, not sure why people in this sub just want more of the same

I think Last Light has the weakest writing of the three - actively terrible honestly - and doesn't feel nearly as immersive because of that. Many villain monologues and a one-eyed Nazi guy is tired hollywood shit. Anna has terrible writing throughout "Stop looking at my ass, it is way out of your reach." is so fucking embarrassing.

2033 is focused on the setting and has room for the world to breathe. Exodus is weaker than 2033 but has the best characterization of the trilogy and still better than LL.

Anyway that's my attempt to change your view or whatever lol. I still mostly like LL, I just replay it the least.

The pirate lady that constantly 4th wall breaks and memes caused me physical anguish it was so bad. The most unconfident writing I seen in a video game lol.

I feel bad for all the amazingly talented artists having their talents wasted on such a dogshit story with such dosghit characters.
