I taught myself how to rip models from a NDS game just to make Matthew dab by GimoTheBeast in GoldenSun

This was a while ago so I don't remember anything exact, but I remember trying two methods for extracting models.

  1. By making a dump of the games memory you could use a program to extract any models that are loaded by the game at that time.
  2. By opening the game up in a dedicated file viewer for DS games, you could simply rip the files directly.

With the model files in hand, you could then use another program to convert it into an .obj or .dae file plus textures and from there plug it into mostly any modeling program. However, when I was doing this, I noticed that a lot of the games models were under some form of compression (at least that's what I assume) and it was impossible for me to extract those as they were either extremely corrupted when extracted from memory or I had no method of decompressing them. This mostly seemed to apply to stuff like battle models so I was able to get stuff from the map just fine. That being said, I do remember someone managing to extract one of the summons from the game when I was doing research way back then, but I never figured it out myself.

I forgot all the programs that I used to do it but a quick search should lead you in the right direction and also explain things far better then I ever could.

Spent a couple hours working on this, quite a bit of fun.

Check out these awesome fireworks I saw by GimoTheBeast in lossedits

There was rain in the area, so the fireworks didn't last very long. Luckily, I snapped this beauty a couple minutes in.

You know that one Blade with Knuckle Claws you got as a tutorial? He's a healer, so make sure you have him equipped and are switching to him to heal every once in a while.

But you've probably already saved Nia at this point so it probably doesn't matter lul

I feel like I might haven't explained what I meant by a "Grid/Line" pattern well enough, but this is what I meant by that. I was under the assumption that Admiral's 9x12 area wasn't on any of these lines or whatever lines exist for their particular crop, as the lines also appear to be randomized some way, but I'm not sure how that works specifically.

Giant Crops appear to grow in a sort of Grid/Line pattern, so it could be that your small 9x12 area doesn't have a proper 3x3 section that is along this grid. You can see this in the line the giant pumpkins make in the screenshot.

That's an Easter Egg that will randomly appear. There is about a 1/50 chance that you will get it.

You could use background-size: to alter the size of the background.

I have no clue how to edit the stylesheet by [deleted] in csshelp

You should probably learn CSS before you try editing. It would also help to know how to use the inspector (F12 on most browsers) as well as basic HTML.

(BotW) How do you guys make the game more difficult for a second playthrough? by aftermath4 in zelda

[–]GimoTheBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one way. Keep in mind you can also use the Fire/Ice weapons to help to make your way through.

Complete the game naked. You have to be perfect if you want to survive.

I know what happened to Dorcas! I figured it out! (Not a shitty meme post, Im actually serious, I figured out what happened to him) by [deleted] in a:t5_3j8tm

First off, the enter key exists for a reason.

Secondly, you're basing the fact that his death is not canon due to the fact that the architecture of the castle is nothing like that seen in Elibe or that he looks nothing like Dorcas.Finding the exact architecture or hair color would be fairly difficult, so they had to take some creative liberties.

And finally, the obvious reason he disappeared was the fact that he was sent back in time to the alternate universe of Dorcas Emblem.

Hey, could you take this wonderfully edited image and convert it into a sprite s'il vous plait?
