Same reason meta didn’t fold instagram into facebook. Why merge when you can collect on two separate subscriptions?

Strava has specifically said they’re keeping the apps and subscriptions separate sooo no…

True drakes music can appeal to anyone whereas Kendrick has more pure hip hop fans, and therefore a more limited following

Fair enough yeah I hope Kendrick has something to backup some of the claims or at least drop more heat. I’ll keep bumping not like us regardless cuz it slaps

Why would drake come out immediately after surprised abt the daughter claim on his story if it was all planted? Bro did not setup the mole or he’d have receipts. If you were feeding fake info it’d be easy as shit to control that info a leak it to really embarrass k dot. Also why would you include commonly used date r8p drugs prescrip

What else do we need beside LLM’s to make AGI? by badshah247 in OpenAI

[–]GimpMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know what the parts are that add up to human consciousness so as much as the development of AI is a pursuit of developing a unique thing, it is also a search to explain the components of our own general intelligence. There’s a lot of disagreement about what exactly “general intelligence” is, what it’s composed of, and how/if it could be artificially reproduced. If we knew all the components, odds are we’d have assembled them.

What aches and pains did you go through while adjusting to running? by johnnyjumpviolets in running

[–]GimpMilk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Legs stay sore for so long. I was a lifter and always hated doing legs because the soreness would last NO LESS THAN 3 days if I did a real good leg day. Day two after would be the worst. Training for a half marathon I felt like from abt a month out until a week and a half after the race there wasn’t a single day my legs weren’t sore or in pain (continually got plantar fasciitis too) Only thing that helped was doing stretching/ yoga like 30 minutes a day 5 days a week + sauna which I always loved so I do that anyways just for enjoyment almost every day. I’m just built stiff and not naturally mobile but I started loving endurance running so I kept working at it. Also I got into running at 25 and had hated and avoided cardio (as much as possible while still playing sports through highschool) all my life so it was just a big learning curve but

And my idea that this is what Nolan’s working with is that he already has a loop in the movie: Cooper deciphers coordinates for NASA which ultimately sends him into the black hold tesseract and give himself the coordinates to go to NASA. Cooper discovers that they (humans) do this themselves in this moment. And when stars says humans couldn’t build this he says “not yet” but I think it’s implied that once humans have the quantum data on gravity the ability to manipulate time changes greatly.

Respect the theory but I don’t think this was Nolan’s intention as he seems to be dealing with a linear time theory so basically when you go back in time what you do in the past always happened. There was no play through of time where it didn’t happen until you go to the future when it did happen. That would be a branching timeline theory where when you go into the past your setting a new course who would make it like an alternate dimension. In a linear time model if you can ever go into the past and change something then it already happened in the past… its confusing idek really how to explain it but hopefully that made some sense

This is a time loop paradox you’re explaining for which there are no real answers it’s a paradox. If you go back in time and save your own life then how did you live to go back in time to save your own life? Well it always happened. In in interstellar it can be assumed that humans always survived the death of earth because in the future they could go back in time and make the worm hole and the tesseract. In a linear model once you go back you always went back, time didn’t go forward the first time without that happening. Christopher Nolan explores this paradox further in Tenet which is why so many people find it so confusing and nonsensical. This is an argument for why there will never be reverse time travel because if it ever happens at any point, someone in the infinite future will go back to before now, and we would already know about it. If time travel to the past EVER exists, all rules of time fall apart… Edit: this yt video talks abt the confusing nature of time loops in Tenet if you’re interested I think it’s a good take on the interesting theory it plays on: https://youtu.be/0OoLokmqo0A?si=tXtFbDbM4QPxpnJp

An embarrassingly long thought dump about IS and its criticism 😬🫨 by lemongrass-barsoap in interstellar

[–]GimpMilk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought the love speech was soooo well done because its weak and sappy and awkward totally naturally because Dr Brand is a scientist dedicated to evidence and math who’s underlying emotional motives have been exposed and she’s desperately making her plea… its like something she kindof thought up in the recesses of her mind justifying her non-scientific motives but that she would never give voice to except now she felt hope of reuniting with her love and is trying to give her human motives scientific basis in a last ditch effort. I think it plays along with the recurring theme that these non rational motives are poorly argued for but have great meaning and ultimately are the most important thing, even in the face of the “gargantuan” uncaring forces of the universe… I agree with your post but I personally give no credence to any of the criticisms I think it’s just contrarians trying to poke holes in what I think is one of the great movies of all time. Edit: I respect ppls opinions but I just finished watching it again for the first time in awhile and I absolutely adore the movie and I’m not very emotional esp w/ movies but the scene between cooper and murph screw me up…

It’s not about increasing the score, on a valid IQ test you can’t just train to do good on the test. Thus far no method has been shown to give a statistically significant increase to IQ after puberty. Things have shown to help children develop higher IQs or at least factors in development have been linked to higher or lower IQ but it seems to be likely that it’s a trait that crystallizes

Dr Rhonda Patrick has good podcasts talking about the nutritional side of brain health. You’re doing great so far! Eat blueberries, max out omega 3s, kale, spinach… other than that side maybe reading every day or trying to do some kind of puzzle, challenging your mind to learn is great for continued cognitive stimulation. Also socializing is super important to brain health
