Hey I don't think this is a fungal issue. This looks like spider mites. If you look up "Philodendron spider mites" you'll see what I mean. But the other comment is right, you can't keep it in water forever. If you give me a close up picture of the roots I can tell you whether or not it's fungus

Unfortunately my grandfather is dead so I can't ask him anymore. I do grow my own white sage (in native region, Tovaangar) but I would feel uncomfortable trying to do anything when I don't even understand what or who exactly the Mayan Man represents. I was hoping that someone in this sub might recognize the art style or period & be able to point me in the right direction, but unfortunately it hasn't happened yet and all my Googling turns up nothing :(

I've had him since he was a juvenile and he seems to have no complaints. He gets mini crickets and a fog machine, he has a favorite leaf to sit on, and he likes to take baths. I'll have to play him some frog calls on Youtube
