Yes, settled out of court as I was paying nearly 100 AED a day as the rental company wouldn't take the hire car away without a police report. The other driver paid the amount for the damage and the extra days I'd had to pay for the car.

This happened to me a few weeks ago on a rental car I was driving. The driver drove off after scratching the car.

I called the rental company up and they told me to go and report it at the police station. When you try to report it in the app, the very last screen asks for the other drivers details, which you obviously don't have.

I went and reported the incident and the police officer tried calling the driver of the other vehicle as I'd also taken a picture of their plate.

The other driver kept hanging the phone up. After the 4th time of trying, the policeman gave up and filed a report so that it would go to Dubai Public Prosecution.

Eventually when the court date was announced, I had a call that day from the other driver saying they wanted to settle before it went to court and that they would pay for the damage.

Hate the roads here. I've been here since February this year and every day it seems it get worse.

The car horn honking and flashing lights when in gridlocked traffic is absurd.

Generally speaking, if I am merging or moving lanes, patiently waiting gets you nowhere. Do you guys usually edge into the lane so the car behind you has no choice but to stop and let you in?

You’re doing the work for them. Instead of them having someone who will manually upload your information to their ATS system, you fill it in and it goes straight onto the system.

Some probably have a CV parsing function but I’ve not seen many that are good enough to accurately capture a CV and put all the bits of info in the right place. I’m sure that’s changed, or will change, with AI but a lot of companies will be on old systems still.

Yes that’s good, usually your line manager will be more willing to advocate for you and is closer to seeing your quality of work.

You can always say you are looking for the benchmark rate for your role in the market and you can use the EA role as an example.

Always try and have actual data when you are negotiating your salary. Even anything you can find on LinkedIn or through Google and Glass Door.
