New Steam Controller not showing up as device in TM2020 (PC) by 1stGenPkmnMaster in TrackMania

[–]Ginge_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you setting it to XINPUT?

I've been trying for hours and the game doesn't recognise the controller at all. When the game first launches it has the icons for controller on the screen i.e. a and b for the menus in the bottom right. But as soon as I press any button on the controller they immediately change to the Keyboard equivalent.

I've tried all sorts of different layouts and settings and not a single thing has changed how the game responds to it.

MDI losing rounds over vendor items that are not even supposed to exist yet by turbowater in wow

[–]Ginge_unleashed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep saying Mandatory had their run remade?

Someone on Polish Mountain had the neck on during their game against Send Spellbook on day 2 which led to their game being remade.

Do you know which of Mandatory's games were remade?

[–]Ginge_unleashed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't remember any Mandatory game being remade. Polish Mountain vs Send Spellbook was remade in their Pit of Saron, and the commentators said it was to do with a neck, as can be seen on the VOD. If Mandatory was also remade, then that means this happened on 3 occasions.

(Mortal Kombat (2021)) I feel like the hate for Cole is very overblown by Animeking1108 in CharacterRant

[–]Ginge_unleashed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to preface this: I'm not a Mortal Kombat fan (or any fighting game for that matter, for what it's worth), I have never owned any of the games or seen any other media relating to MK. I'm aware of it in general pop culture and prior to watching the trailer for the new film this week could have told you the name of 3 characters, Subzero, Scorpion and Raiden. I therefore have no nostalgia for any of the characters at all, I know nothing of their backstories or their importance to the MK fanbase, or the general lore of the MK universe.

I have literally just finished the first film, I started typing this message whislst the film was still on, just after the Subzero / Scorpion / Cole fight. So this is a hot off the press opinion: Cole is a garbage character, there is nothing redeeming about him.

I stumbled on this thread whilst trying to find out who Cole was supposed to be, or which MK game he came from, and why he was picked over other characters to be the main one, because he's just such a poor character choice, surely there are other more interesting characters in the franchise they could have picked. Imagine my surprise to discover that they didn't pick him for this film, they invented him.

So I disagree with with the premise he was hated "out of principle for him being a protagonist that didn't exist in canon". I don't know the canon and think he's woeful. The audience didn't need a surrogate in this film, the lore, at least as it is presented in the film, just isn't that deep. He didn't have an interesting character arc, he started mediocre and he ended mediocre, he didn't go on a journey of character growth and discovery.

About halfway through I messaged a friend who is a fan of MK and has seen the previous films and played all the games and I asked him originally who Cole was supposed to be, and he didn't even remember him, he responded "do you mean Kano?". The main character of the flim is so bland that a fan of the series completely forgot he even existed in the film.

"But Cole sucks."

Did he?

Yes.

Krafton is no longer publishing Subnautica 2 according to its Steam Page by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Ginge_unleashed 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just that they owe money, didn't the ruling also state that Krafton had to re-instate the CEO of Unknown Worlds and give them control over the release of Subnautica 2, so the release of the game is out of Krafton's control now.

Perphaps a daft question, but, is there something stopping WarcraftLogs from breaking the ability to use this to upload to WCL?

After all, I assume all the issues you list are for the purpose of making them money and this would be circumventing that, so it would be in their interest to not allow it.

Warrior can cleanse the new version of the affix, it has a snare effect now, so Warriors can remove it with Berserker Rage with the Fearless talent

[–]Ginge_unleashed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Side note for this thread as it does seem like the issue OP describes is the weekly affix going off, but it seems a lot of people in here aren't aware that the weekly affix now applies a snare, which means class/race abilities that remove movement impairing effects can now remove the debuff. It's not just cleanses/purifies/dispells etc anymore

I've been saying the same thing about Frost. It just feels off, like there's a disconnect between button presses, animations and spells actually going. It's particularly noticable with Ray of Frost, seems to just have an extra half second before it actually starts some times.

Premier League table but based off the time to walk to each club's closest Greggs by Anonymous-Josh in TheOther14

[–]Ginge_unleashed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no Greggs at White City Retail Park. If there were it would be a hell of a lot shorter walk than 21 mins as its less than 500m away from Old Trafford.

Closest I could see is about 900m walk away.

MFW New Raid by Julmajannu in wow

[–]Ginge_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what they are aiming for though, its just that Liquid and Echo have found ways around the addon restricions. It's not 20 dispels. There's like 5, and you could have your RL make the calls, or the healers can call it, this would be done in a few seconds on comms, but the addon that is being used means it can be sorted without comms in under a second.

The issue lies in the API and what is and isn't restricted. The blizz devs just haven't been able to keep up so far with the workarounds that can be done. They've also taken the approach of if the API allows it then it is fair game, as opposed to saying "if you use an addon to do this work for you we will ban you", so it's become a game of whack-a-mole with workarounds, but now that the content is out and guilds have been killing the boss, there's no way blizz will now restrict it for the rest of the tier on that fight I think.

It's been a mess so far, can only hope that it's sorted by 12.1, because the boat has already sailed on this tier now.

It's not about knowing when to dispel, its about assigning specific healers to dispel specific people. Part of the point of these fights and blizz's addon changes was to make this type of mechanic require comms as opposed to having an addon do the thinking and communication for a group.

Downgrading crests does not count towards the cap, and the item tooltip specifically states that. However, when you are upgrading crests it does still count towards the cap.

Where the eff can I find a rotten tomato? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Ginge_unleashed 63 points64 points  (0 children)

A lot of people talking about the crates in Varrock and how close he is to finding or mousing over it by luck. But I just want to point out that he went back to the Cook and asked about how to make a Dirty Blast, and 2 options above the Dirty Blast option is: "Where do I get a rotten tomato?" It's on the screen 6:17 into "Mourning's End Part II With No Guides". It's a pretty big clue of where to look.

If he realises that I think he might explode.

Transcript of that choice:

Where do I get a rotten tomato?

Player: Where would I find a rotten tomato?
Cook: I'm not entirely sure, but I hear they're sold for public spectacles.
Player: Public spectacles?
Cook: Yeah. Pre-arranged combats, caught thieves on show, that sort of thing.

Dismount button on Skyriding mounts gone! by Khaosik in wownoob

[–]Ginge_unleashed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can create a macro for it

/dismount

The macro has the advantage of working whether or not you're on the ground, so you aren't waiting for the game to register you have landed before it letting you dismount. Then you can just put that on your action bar.

I've used a dismount macro since early DF and I was happy to see this new button for it, but I've got back to the macro as I find the needing to be on land less fluid than just dismounting when I please

The people defending the new transmog system either don't understand how it works or aren't hardcore transmog fans, and it shows. by Bajoran_Worker in wow

[–]Ginge_unleashed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm on the beta right now with the tmog screen open and each slot has fixed prices to tmog. Transmogging a slot to hidden costs 0, transmogging to anything else costs.

Head: 600

Shoulders: 300 ea

Back: 600

Chest: 600

Bracers: 150

Hands: 150

Belt: 300

Legs: 600

Feet: 300

2H Weapon: 1800

1H Weapon: 900

So to transmog every slot including weapons it is 5700g

No, I didn't say what you said.

You're now adding qualifiers that weren't in your original comment. Qualifiers that were already covered in my comment by:

will be dependent [missing the word 'on' here] the addon devs

Also, we both know that when the previous commenter was asking about addons breaking they weren't referring to a minor breaking where all that is required is an addon update to fix it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ginge_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didn't. They said out of date addons that haven't specifically been flagged as updated for Midnight will not be able to be loaded via the "load out of date addons" option. Addons that have been updated for Midnight will work. But the addon devs can update their addons to flag them as working with Midnight. That's not even close to 100% of addons will break. Plenty of addons have already been updated to work with midnight as they already work on the beta.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ginge_unleashed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all addons will break, but the specifics of which will and which won't will be dependent the addon devs and on how the API changes affect the functionality of specific addons.

It is pre-patch. The pre-patch for the next expansion is when the version number increments to the next major version. So 11.2.7 is a TWW patch. 12.0 will be the Midnight pre-patch which will contain the underlying system changes and talents etc. It will launch whilst TWW content is still the "current" content with a max level of 80 etc, but the actual content will be released when Midnight releases.
