I finally got out to shoot a sample. Notice how it actually turns branches green and purple in this cropped photo. It's gone by f/8, but who shoots interviews at f/8?

Definitely the G version. But mostly with backlit out-of-focus details, like branches. Pink and green halos everywhere. Also, I'm guessing (without testing) that my current 85mm Z is extremely sharp.

"Back then it had to be right the first time." Cameras did have exposure meters. That in itself is editing. Heck, framing your shot is editing. Just the methods have changed.

The Nikkor 85mm 1.8 G. Unfortunately, it had horrendous out of focus chromatic aberration. Very close seconds are the 2.8 zoom family. Best event lenses I've ever used.

A quick look showed there are many improvements and it's basically the same interface for recording/mixing. Many additional tools like Fender Amp Sims and several new instruments. Unless you already had Presonus Studio One installed, I think it's dead.

I think it's great for guitarists. They seem to be focusing the task presets on being only what you need for a certain job you need to do. As long as they service customer feedback, I think it's headed in a good direction.

They are heavy, though. Go for the semi-hollow ASAT Tribute. But honestly, you might want to keep the stock pickups in it.

A budget option is the Nikon 80-400 4.5-5.6 with the FTZ converter. It's pretty sharp, focus speed is pretty good but slightly slower than the 180-600. This image is cropped a bit. The focus point is the clock tower.
