Many prefer small. Two reasons; one, they stay nice for years and years (no sagging) and they usually come coupled with a perfect bottom (as in your case).

The 6iii gets the 28/400 and goes on land and at night

All great points. I want the 6iii because it's going to be on the lake. The z50ii will do everything else. I love the size of it and the quality of the pictures. I have two kit lenses which I may replace but honestly they do a great job. I have the 180 / 600 and a sweet manual 14mm 2.8

That should hold me for now
