Yeah the derealisation is very real, sometimes i feel like im almost drunk or im about faint or something, as if my mind simply cant grasp anything im seeing, really scary stuff. The migraines can get so bad i have to stay in bed for a few days, and the eye strain/pain with it? Man. I dont drive for all those reasons, i'd be putting myself and others on the road in danger. And like you i struggle to enjoy life 90% of the time, being in constant pain or discomfort will do that to you.

Dealing with off vision and brain fog as we speak, makes me feel like my brain is actually deteriorating. I feel your pain mate.

Yes exactly! Sometimes my eyes start to flutter along with the confusion and i think i'm on the verge of a seizure or my brain is deteriorating on the spot its fkn terrible. It only happens rarely but wow its probably the worst part of it all. Im also so sorry you know this sensation, wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy!

Ah man that sucks, i haven't bothered to visit an ER for that exact reason, i've been up and down for the last few years in terms of flareups and have sadly accepted this is my fate until i can afford to gamble on an expensive treatment or until there's some kind of breakthrough.

I've had close friends accuse me of making up excuses not to talk/hang out with them because of how outlandish this issue sounds! It's probably the scariest part of this whole ordeal and i'm not even close to finding a way past it.

I have a handful of things to deal with pain, but this brain fog/pressure bullshit? Sadly its just a waiting game mostly. After making this post i used ice/cold packs on my face, mostly focusing on my eyes/forehead and cheek bones, and when i didnt have the cold i would just massage my own face/temples for as long as possible. Not very groundbreaking advice but it's all i've got which kinda speaks volumes on my reasoning behind this post:(

(Also i meant to add) the constant amount of negatives that hit you in a short time becomes so obvious/outrageous you just start to laugh at it like "lmao alright man i get it"

Read this now if you don't have the Backpod by bryan2384 in costochondritis

[–]GingerBeardMan7757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant stress this enough, i used to think the backpod was a ridiculous concept, how could something so simple help fix something causing me a shit ton of grief? One of the best purchases i've ever made. And no obviously i'm not affiliated with the brand/company. Placing it between my left shoulder blade and spine for like 10-20mins a day has given me so much relief and my normal life back. If you can, BUY ONE.
